How could a song titled BUTTER BOY by a group called Fanny not be a winner . ( ........& in certain circles certainly ) & lyrically , how risqué ... this in a time when the Ohio Players are hitting big with a song called FIRE with lyrics like: The way you push, push let's me know that you're good [You're gonna get your wish] Oh, yeah I'm not gonna choke from the smoke, got me tightenin' up my stroke Do you feel it, girl, yeah go figure *****

| FANNY was a trailblazing group, for female rock bands. The GO-GO's even attributed their very existence to the groundbreaking FANNY. I bought their Casablanca LP "Rock & Roll Survivors" (the band's 5th and final studio LP) for their version of "Sally Go 'Round The Roses". FANNY was an awesome rock band! And Casablanca took a big chance on signing them away from Reprise, because they were different. Check this out and learn something: Fanny My biggest attraction to Casablanca, in the beginning, was that they dared to be different. In ALL directions. They didn't set-out to be a "Rock" label, or a "Disco" label. They wanted to be THE label. And one must admit, they succeeded, like no other label before, or since.

| This book is a must for me. It already brings back many memories. Listening to Lucille Ball on the Johnny Carson double LP with my friends. The old one color label. I think it was dark brown or grey. Playing the Gloria Scott, Barry White produced 45 at the club. I remember Mark Paul Simon, Arnie Smith (Still have his Casablanca Records business card.) and Michele Hart. I remember Donna Summer stopping by at the DJ Pool Meeting. I went to a Birthday Party for one of the Skatt Brothers. I received a wooden Camel Plaque they gave out to DJ's. I also got a post card, in the mail, of Donna Summer. The message read: Would Love to Love You Baby, Donna Summer. Casablanca records always had great sound!!! Hope a new re-mastered box set is in the works.

| I don't think that this has been mentioned thus far, but the official web site accompanying this book has made promo videos available to view, including a tantalising glimpse of the official promo video of Romeo & Juliet! And Party Every Day
