| That's what they came to be known for, but I don't think it was ever their aim. They just wanted to sell loads of records, period. They signed rock acts all along, and even put out a couple of comedy albums. Wasn't the very first Casablanca album a collection of bits from "The Tonight Show"? |

I'm curious to read (if indeed it is in the book) how the company managed to become synonymous with "disco".

BTW, I thought LTLYB was the album that pulled them from the brink... didn't Kiss take another year or two to get huge? |

It was released in September of 1975 while Donna's Love to love you baby album was released...on August 27 1975. Now the question is - which one did what and in what order ??? My money is on Donna - of course !

| "Rock And Roll All Nite" (45) debuted on the Hot 100 on Nov. 15, 1975. "Love To Love You Baby" (45) debuted on the Hot 100 on Dec. 6, 1975.

| Sounds like both albums played a vital role in the company's history. |

| just to get it stright- KISS was exploding followed by Donna and that Followed by The Parliament- all three happened at almost the same time- We made more money from Donna and Parliament because we did not owe them back royalties in the millions like we owed KISS- KISS Alive did sell many more records than Donna - We also had Rodney Dangerfield, Robin Williams and pretty much the rest were Disco albums with a few not great sellers but great artists like T-REX and Long John Baldry and Fanny ( if it wasn't for the sex radio police there single would have been our big first hit) The whole discography is in the book.. |

That's quite funny ( good grief what was that Fanny single like !! ) ......since instead your first big hit was that of a woman moaning one long orgasm !!! *****
