| In the past there have been a number of negative comments made on this forum about getdisconnected.com (some by me). Despite having a less than positive experience with them previously I decided to take a chance and order some of their new releases. I am happy to report that my experience this time around has been much better. I ordered and received in a timely fashion the reissue of the Paul Sabu-produced Ann-Margret album and a previously unreleased disco concept album "Dante's Inferno", produced by Pepe Luis Soto. A third CD ordered, Celi Bee's "Fly Me On the Wings of Love" has been delayed until later this month. Not only was my credit card not charged until the CDs were actually sent but I received emails letting me know that they had shipped. This is a total turnaround from the experience I had with them previously and I would not hesitate to order from them again or recommend others do so. The Ann-Margret CD is a delight to revisit - her voice seems weaker than I remember but the songs seem stronger. The concept album "Dante's Inferno" is a real find - very reminiscent of Alec Constandino's "Romeo and Juliet" (though certainly not the classic it is) with a little Celi Bee thrown in (who sings as part of the choir). Apparently, this album was never released due to the label shutting down and it is very exciting to discover a brand-new disco record twenty-seven years later! Getdisconnected.com promises additional releases later this year including more Celi Bee and a collection of other Paul Sabu-produced Ann-Margret recordings including my favorite "Everybody Needs Somebody Sometimes". I believe the label is really trying to get it together and deserves another chance - there are a lot of great disco records that need to be re-released and these guys could be the ones to do it. |

| My experiences with getdisconnected in the past weren't too bad at all. Yes, like others, I experienced delays getting the CDs (due to the bad weather and power outtages situation). However, they were good about keeping me posted on status whenever they could. Like Kensix, I'm happy to report that with this new batch of releases, I'm also experiencing better customer service! They've been doing their best to prove they can deliver. :-D BTW Kensix, thanks for the mini review of the Dante's Inferno CD. I think I'll have to purchase it now! |
