Default Scientology,Homosexualily and Tom Cruise

A very interesting article about Scientology and Tom Cruise :)

"Homosexuality, of course, is discouraged, while marriage and family -- or at least the appearance of such -- are de rigueur. Some have even maintained that Scientology attempts to cure members of their homosexuality. Enter Tom Cruise. The celebrity Scientologist contingent is well-known -- John Travolta, Anne Archer, Jenna Elfman and Kirstie Alley are the A-list members, but have you heard about the alleged involvement of William Burroughs, Patrick Swayze, Gordon Lightfoot, Mikhail Baryshnikhov and Ginger Spice?

Still, Cruise remains the brightest star in the Scientology firmament. Rumour has it Mimi Rogers brought Cruise into the church, which subsequently arranged his divorce from her and his marriage to Nicole Kidman, encouraging them to adopt children and assume a family posture.

And so we have Eyes Wide Shut. A rich, handsome professional married to Nicole Kidman gets involved with a mysterious cult with Satanic overtones (masks, sex and sacrifice rituals), inadvertently learning its secrets. He is blackmailed into keeping silent about it.

The film makes two outrageous references to Cruise's rumoured homosexuality -- a scene in which he is called a faggot by a group of youths on the street and another in which a fruity hotel desk clerk orgasmically flirts with him. The relation of Cruise and Kidman to their daughter is presented as a complete pose, with Kidman almost sarcastically going through the motions of motherhood.

At the end, when Kidman tells Cruise that they have to fuck -- whether they like it or not -- it's clear that the outward appearance of heterosexual bliss must be maintained despite all contrary desires in order to preserve their position in life."

Talking about Nicole... wasn't she also "converted" to Scientology by hubby Tom? Did she leave the cult? And what about Penelope Cruz?
Do these women stop their religious beliefs as soon as they dump their men? How blasphemious!

Tom Cruise is no actor IMO. Just a personality pushed on an ignorant, unsophiticated, non-discerning public who will buy anything. And ANY guy who throws over a women like Nicole Kidman for any reason just HAS to be gay.

I don't know if all this has anything to do with Miss Holmes but the guy IS losing his cool IMO.

The way he behaved with Letterman, Oprah and the incident with the press in London and the stand-up comedian he insulted is not CRUISE, it's more Ricky Gervais :o

Tom, get your act 2gether man! Behave like a MAN!

I knew a guy who lived in West Hollywood who used to write jokes for various sitcoms. He told me that Tom Cruise's marriage to Nicole Kidman was strictly a publicity stunt for business. Nicole was guaranteed to have her career boosted...which it was, and Tom dispelled any gay rumors. They only adopted children, never had children of their own. Who Know's....

Seems Miss Bacall doesn't think much of Tom. This article from Salon.com:

Bacall Rips Cruise's 'Vulgar' Behavior

- - - - - - - - - - - -

August 01,2005 | NEW YORK -- Lauren Bacall has a few unkind words to say about Tom Cruise. In an interview in the Aug. 8 issue of Time magazine, now on newsstands, the 80-year-old actress says, "When you talk about a great actor, you're not talking about Tom Cruise."

"His whole behavior is so shocking," she says. "It's inappropriate and vulgar and absolutely unacceptable to use your private life to sell anything commercially, but I think it's kind of a sickness."

Bacall was alluding to Cruise's displays of emotion and public courting of Katie Holmes in the weeks leading up to the release of his new film, "War of the Worlds." Cruise and Holmes became engaged in June after he proposed at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Last fall, Bacall made similar remarks about Cruise's ex-wife Nicole Kidman, her co-star in "Birth." While promoting the movie, Bacall became irritated when an interviewer described Kidman as "a legend."

"She's not a legend," Bacall said. "She can't be a legend at whatever age she is. ... You have to be older."

"Private Screenings: Lauren Bacall" and a marathon of Bacall's films were to air Monday on TCM.

Hey Discoman,
I've been a long time subscriber to that "left wing" site and I'm damn proud to be. I know the articles on the Bush crime family and their minions pisses off you looney wingnuts but truth is truth.
Here's a comic strip you might like.
