Madonna Vs. Belgian Justice The judicial court of Mons/Belgium has opened a case against Madonna. Reason for this endictment is a complaint by Belgian composer Salvatore Acquaviva. He claims that Madonna's million-seller "Frozen" is a partial copy from his song "Ma vie fout l'camp".
Lawyers for the popstar say that the ressemblance is a coïncidence but the Belgian songwriter has the full story: In the late seventies, Madonna was discovered in New York by Jean Vanloo, the Belgian producer of The Chocolates and Patrick Hernandez.
Vanloo took her with him to Europe as a dancer but soon found out that she had vocal talents also. He planned to launch her as a Discostar but she preferred Rockmusic and both went their separate ways. Acquaviva now claims that the popstar has lived in Vanloo's hometown of Mouscron/Belgium while she claims that she was in Paris at that time. The Belgian composer also claims that Madonna rehearsed with Vanloo and that one of those songs was his composition. This should have inspired her to write "Frozen", almost 20 years later. Specialists already confirmed that both songs are very similar and the court ruled that the case can be opened now. Vanloo can't be a witness anymore coz' the man has passed away 5 years ago.
The court will speak out by the end of June. |
