Obscure 70s/80s Porn Stars

I'm always intrigued by the lesser-known performers in any exploitation genre. Here are a few faves:

1) Heaven St. John: As Angelique Pettyjohn, she appeared on the "Gamesters Of Triskelton" episode of "Star Trek" (she is the woman Eddie Murphy referred to as the "green bitch" in his stand-up routine). As Heaven St, John, she appeared in TITILLATION (the only porn comedy besides FASCINATION that was actually funny), and her performance as a kindly, but terminally ill woman in BODY TALK is the only perormance in an adult film that ever made me cry.

2) Ali Moore: "The Moore Next Door". The fresh-faced Ali was known for her great chemistry onscreen with Christy Canyon, but Ali will be doomed to be a trivia question for another reason. There was a reason that Ali had such a fresh-faced look...she started doing hardcore at 16! This makes her the second most important underage performer in porn history. :roll:

3) Denise and Diane Sloan: These low-energy twins definitely underwhelmed audiences with their boring performances in films such as TIGRESSES AND OTHER MANEATERS. What makes them interesting is that during their entire time in porn, they hated each other and essentially didn't speak to each other off camera. Very bizarre.

4) Crystal Sync aka Harris Compton: Usually hidden under a ludicrous "perm" wig and hidden behind 1000 noms de plume, this older porn actress was known for energetic performances in the Golden Age. She appeared in MARASCHINO CHERRY.

5) Brooke and Taylor Young: Fraternal twins from the mid-70s, appeared in SWEETCAKES.

6) The Gabrielle Twins: These identical twins did a few videos together in the mid-80s. Michelle Gabrielle continued on her own for a bit after her sister left the biz.

7) Lee Carol: A former call girl, and a longtime alcoholic, Lee wore her hard life on her face, but she had a great body. She used to throw herself into her sex scenes, though...she sometimes appeared to be in need of an exorcist during her on-screen orgasms.

Paul, the Dutch-born Diedre seems to have disappeared from the industry at the end of the 90s. You can see her in some soft-core "Skinemax" fare such as THE OTHER WOMAN. I always thought she worked well woth Nikki Dial. She always reminded me of mainstream actress Joanna Pacula, for some reason.

Now Paul, is the Chanel Price (who's deceased) you're speaking about a big blonde Amazon sometimes went by the name Chanel? If it is, I have to tell you...it was always rumored that Chanel once was a girl with that extra little something, but she had it removed surgically.

Fortunately :D the Chanel I speak of is not the one that had the lop-it-offame Julia Chanel was/is French performer of mixed heritage. That woman had face and body that would put viagra outta business :lol:

Paul, I checked out Julia Chanel (nee' Julia Pinel). I see what you mean, but I'm not at all familiar with her work.

Let me add another name to my list:

8 ) Juliet Graham: She appeared in a few high-profile adult films in the mid to late '70s (usually in some kind of disguise) most notably as the maid in THE STORY OF JOANNA, and as the Queen Of Hearts in the hard and soft versions of ALICE IN WONDERLAND (the Kristine DeBell version). After she left the biz she hosted a non-porn talent showcase on NYC cable under her real name of Chris McCleod starting in 1981. My company did her publicity shots in 1982, and she lived on my block that year for a short period (BTW I had no idea she was Juliet Graham until much later).
