Carrie--good but something was missing for me. Perhaps a different song choice??

My least favorites:

Anwar--It's his turn to go.

A few other comments:

The dancing segments were stupid.

Scott--you're white, quit trying to sound black.

I watched my DVR over and over last night til around 2 AM in the morning... I do have a few comments that are similar since my last post was really a disecting one...

Carrie is good... and sang that song really well... but when as we go on and lose contestants... she could lose if she doesn't learn how to loosen up on the stage. She doesn't have the best stage presence as some of the other idols... I'm sure that she's relieved that NADIA and JESSICA is gone... because she lost her COUNTRY singing competitor and NADIA was somebody I looked more forward to watching.

Scott on the other hand is white... and is somewhat a hipocrate. His tough image is gonna finally make his downfall... I was tickled to death that he nailed last night's song without being pitchy... It was basically perfect... He claims that he didn't like the 70's look and the dance thing isn't his bag... So he sings a Four Tops & Luther Vandross and similar dance/club oriented songs.. I don't get it?

And I agree the dancing segments were very offensive to deal with... I must have rolled my eyes every time someone did the JOHN TRAVOLTA point up and down. I guess that's what AMERICANS see what disco means to this generation. Making fun of it really got under my skin.

I'd like to modify my bottom three .... although I think Carrie is weak enough to be down there . she deserves kudos for doing a 100% certifiable dance song .... "MacArthur Park" . I don't even think any factions within this forum would argue that! I didn't realize the theme for the night was 70's DANCE tunes ..thought it was 70's in general and even at that I thought Bo was fringe with "Vehicle" .... but if they were supposed to pick dance tunes ..... then Bo flunked miserably and for lack of spirit ...OUT ! Bottom three at least this week ...
. He did the same thing for "show tunes" .. said he just closed his eyes & pointed to a song on the list and that's why he sang ..... "Corner Of The Sky " & it was the worst of that night. If you don't want to play the game ... then ... :x --- He's my least favorite here on out . no matter how much he's bonking Paula back stage.
Constantine sang a Bee Gees song ..... well not all Bee Gees songs are disco .. and "Nights On Broadway " is a case in point .

Here's what a SMART contestant would've done ..... come to discomusic.com & said "Folks I'm about to perform disco on American Idol . What songs do you all suggest that I could perform that would tear the roof off the sucker ?!" :D

NRGBEAT ... if by "black" you mean having soul ....that's exactly what I like about Scott's singing .....I don't think he has the easiest time vocalizing . but he pulls it up from his soul and I can feel it . I prefer that , when i hear that quality in a singer ... as much as I like Vonzell ... its almost like all she has to do is open her mouth and the correct notes arrive ..... no effort ..... . Scott has to reach down and find them from inside ... :D

Yes, Scott is a whigger, but since when are White people not allowed to sing in a black style? I don't seem to recall Jimi Hendrix and Living Color be nitpicked because they were singing and performing in a white style. Does that make Joss Stone a hypocrite as well?

That is the defining image of disco to Americans. The majority of them were weaned on disco through radio and television, and that is reality.

My comment about Scott wasn't in reference to his singing it was regarding the way he talks. It's like he's trying to imitate black people.

Salsoul,

I was just referring to what I witnessed. I guess I took it personally when he simply bashed the 70's as a whole, but then sings R&B songs all the time during the competition. Maybe I just had my panties in a wad?

Anwar left last night no big surprise.

I think next week will be either Anthony or Scott.

After that it's anyone's guess. If Carrie has a bad week she could be the next to go.

I hope the final two is one man and one woman and not Bo and Constantine. :x :x :x

Well as you said NRG no big surprise... I didn't get to see the show! because of DVR problems. Definitely it's gonna be SCOTT or ANTHONY next week. Vonzell is doing such a great job. She just might sneak in the top 5.

I must be getting old as there were few songs that I was familiar with last night. Didn't like most of them either.

Bo and Constantine---What can I say? Everyone seems to love them, I can't stand them.

Carrie--Not her best week.

Vonzell--Not as good as in previous weeks, but she tried.

Anthony--Didn't care for the song, but thought he did a fine job.

Scott--Lackluster. He will probably be gone tonight.

Very lackluster group ... they are all getting less impressive ..... instead of moreso ..... Since last week , when I realized the perimeters of this show were so vague and unenforced ....when on 70's DANCE night "Vehicle " could be allowed ( simply because Paula's boyfriend sounds like the original vocalist) and "Nights On broadway' ..because hey, if its Bee Gees , then it must be .......whoever is guiding the show is doing a terrible job this time ... & not having musical guest panalists is a BIG mistake .... . there's not enough care going into what is being chosen to perform ... very bad last night ..... Scott will go tonight ... and deserves to. He honestly doesn't have enough going on to wind up on top ..they have worn him down anyway... and last night it showed ....

Vonzell will probably win ...she has the pipes ...and so the music world has yet another one of those loud diva types ....

Carrie wants to be a country singer .... isn't there a competition show tailored for that crowd ?

Anthony is the only one that has advanced himself through this process .... he has best made use of the show's format to sell himself . He's actually blooming through the course of this show .. in more ways than one ... geting some magnetism about him as he better fills in those shirts each week ... .... that Eastern European angle is so hot right now anyway ....

Bottom three .... Scott, Carrie, Bo .....out: SCOTT

I agree it was very subpar night for almost all contestants.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD - I don't want to be a country music hater... However, the country songs she picks bores me to death. It was just OK for me...
(***)

BO BICE - I thought Bo was getting bored... but it looks like he's in it to win (again).
(***)

VONZELL SOLOMON - Even though I hate anything to do with Christina Aguilera, she really did a great job on the vocals and the 7th consecutive week in a row she proved to me that she wants this as much as any of them.
(****)

ANTHONY FEDEROV - You can't help but like this kid... He seems to respond to each week trying his hardest... I thought this would be the week that he would fall on his ass... BUT!!! he didn't!!! Even though I didn't know the CELINE DION song, he did a great job... above and beyond.
(****)

CONSTANTINE MAROULIS - Should've stayed with a song that fits his vocal range. That is one of my favorite contemporary rock songs... and he killed it. Almost embarrasing. Go back to what works Constantine.
(*1/2)

SCOTT SAVOL - Almost did a good job... however pitchy too many times during the performance... He also showed how boring he can be during a ballad. He doesn't have what it takes to be an idol!
(**)

Bottom 3

SCOTT, ANTHONY & BO ........ goodbye Scott finally!

holy shit!!!!

This is part talent & part popularity... however, that just contradicts what I just said.... lol. Constantine fucks up once and is outta here. Where is the justice... The show is gettin' pretty intense because NADIA, CONSTANTINE & JESSICA didn't deserve to go before Scott. I just found out last week there is a site that supports Scott as a joke. Can you believe this crap. Now I forgot the link... but what they do is get members to power vote for Scott. What I'm saying is that they are a spoiler group that does this. :-?

I was really surprised to see Anthony in the bottom two and not Scott.

Personally, I'm not sorry to see Constantine go, but what happened to all his fans who supported him?

Paula

Constantine's ouster really surprised lil' ole me. :o :o :o :o :o I thought it was pretty ballsy when Shrek/Scott decided he deserved to stand alongside the winning team; Constantine also thought he belonged with Carrie & Bo. But I was certain it was Shrek/Scott that was gonna go!!! :x

What exactly was Bo's best performance?..cause he seems lousy every time I've seen him. Constantine impressed me on both "I Can't Make You Love Me" & "Bohemian Rhapsody."

So the Scott-supporters are doin' it as a "joke", eh? That's almost funny...but I bet the producers will find a way to get rid o'him. They don't want THAT as their "Idol."
