--- I had liked Anwar , but his Stevie Wonder sound is wearing a bit thin. Bo was the most boring , but he'll squeak by this week. I liked Scot's performance a lot , but the judges really slammed him this time . They want him out. Thought Nikko outperformed them all ... which surprised me... not my favorite... Vonzell is still my pick , however I'm starting to ask myself , does the music world really need another Whitney/Mariah/Beyonce ? Either Anwar or Anthony should go . I agree nrgbeat , the show stunk. It must have been the 90's music. This is this group's own decade , and if what they picked was what they consider the cream of their generation's music ..... well, ... as a music lover .... thank you stars in heaven, my youth wasn't consumed during that decade.

| I watched last night for the first time this season and I liked that Carrie Underwood girl--the country singer--even though she did sing that Martina McBride song that asshole Sean Hannity uses as his "theme song" on radio.   Also, that Constantine guy who sang "I Can't Make You Love Me' was quite good. Hasn't he been an object of derision here? (Didn't bother to go back & read previous comments--so I may be wrong). That Scott (Shrek) guy should go and that first guy-that sang the rock song should get the boot also.

maybe we should do our critique here person for person for what's left of them. Top 3 (last night) 1. Vonzell - SOLID performance last night... she really nailed it and looked good enough to stay in the competition. Her last weeks performance was also good which caught my ears. She basically stunk up the place since the beggining of the this season.. she has now grown on not only the judges and I think america is now catching on. If she continues to pick good songs I see her as a sleeper for the Top 3 overall. :D 2. Constantine - Surprise surprise surprise!!! He actually can sing a song and not sound bad. This was his best performance since the show started. I was hoping he'd be voted off by now. However last nights performance should keep him safe for another week. 3. Nikko - 2 SOLID weeks in a row... I really don't like today's R&B male vocalists.. however, his rendition of TEVIN CAMPBELL's "Can We Talk" was spot on... good for him. If he continues to pick good songs he could also be safe for a while.... he is definitely safe for now. MIDDLE OF THE PACK 4. Anthony - sung his ass off last night! The judges basically spit on him. The reality of it all is that his talent does not match his vocal style/sound. He definitely won't make it as a rapper, boy band (is not in style now), R&B singer... so what do you do for him? Just for kicks sing ---> Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley... hehehe :D 5. Bo - 2 bad song choices in a row... I believe he needs a reality check as others have outsung/performed him and he might lose some of his fan base and just might miss the Top 3. He's been the most consistant performer throughout the competition. Be careful bo :-? 6. Scott - and flmao @ Marky ---> Shrek that was classic. Actually last night was the first time I listened to his song and relistened... almost not true... last weeks Phil Collins rendition was above par also... I'm not sure if people are voting for him because they feel sorry for him or what??? His stage presence is like watching snails fuck. 7. Carrie - Back to her country roots... she has one of the best vocals in the competition. She is however borderline boring at times. She blew me away last week with her performance of HEART'S classic hit ALONE. Now she's back to borderline boring again. Earlier in the competition she was a favorite to win... but now it's like... c'mon Carrie!!!! :-? BOTTOM 3 8. Nadia - A very forgetful song she sang last night.. it wasn't horrible but she can't seem to get any better. She has never been in the Top 3 in performance and when she does have a bad night.... it's like oh well... Her vocal range is limited but she has the best stage presence of all the idols. It won't surprise if she's out this week. 9. Jessica - Had a pretty solid performance last week. Then she picked a low chart hit by LEANN RIMES which could do her in unless she somehow is saved tonight. She's been in the bottom three I believe twice now. Sorry Jessica... last night just didn't do it for me. 10. Anwar - oh brother... what the hell was that... :-? and he picked a shitty song also... If you really want to make vomit... sing I BELIEVE I CAN FLY and he deserves to be at the bottom of the barrel after that. This is his second week in a row picking songs that are not in his vocal range. who is gonna leave tonight?: Anthony, Anwar or Nadia should go.

Here's my take on the idols. Nadia--Liked her in the beginning. Not a great voice, but she can hold her own. Thought she was better this week than last. Scott--Good singer but unexciting. Nikko--Reminds me too much of Bobby Brown. Doesn't do it for me. Vonzell--B+. It's tough tackling a Whitney song because one tends to compare. Anthony--Liked him in the beginning, but his performance last night wasn't great. Starting to get boring. Jessica--B+--I don't dislike her but she doesn't blow me away either. Carrie--Great look and voice. She broke out of the country mold last week but went back this week. Would like to see her do more non-country. Bo--Never been a fan. His voice isn't bad, not crazy about his style or choice of songs. Constantine.--Not a fan, but the last couple of weeks he has tried to break the mold first with a Partridge Family song and then with a ballad so I give him credit. Anwar--Goodbye, say hi to Mikalah.

Well that was a surprise. I focused on the males this week because with six guys and four gals , it seemed odds were that the votes would get spread more thinly amongst the males and one would go. Jessica must have gotten some really measley votes. (looked too much like Carrie and they blurred into one, splitting their votes) But the results this week suggests fairness. . Being a bit suspicious of these viewer voter shows... who's to say if they are honestly using the votes to bump people off. After all , it is in their interest to have the "winner' be the one they most believe they can best market. That's why i think they are so hellbent on promoting Bo/Constantine this time, they want to see how well they can sell " a rocker" in today's music marketplace . if it were rigged it'd have been in their interest to maintain a better variety with a balance of male/female performers and drop a male. ...... So now its just three young ladies and six guys. ... .....So long Jessica ... ..... Jessica who? ........

anybody want some drama? Apparently SCOTT SAVOL has a dark past. He is currently on probation for some kind of an assault charge against his ex/current girlfriend... They are crucifying him on the American Idol forum. It's pretty cruel but sometimes your past will come back to haunt you unfortunately. The producers decided to keep him on the show... and he is not disqualified.

A few comments about AI. 1). I don't think Jessica was that bad she shouldn't have gotten the boot this week. 2). I really question the voting system. People can vote as many times as they want and even Paula Abdul said she voted. Does that seem fair? It seems this competition is based less on talent, but how many friends/family you can get to call in and vote. 3). I think the judges try to sway the voting with their comments. This year it seems they want a rocker to win so they've been very complementary to Bo and Constantine. A couple of years back they were pushing for Ruben. He wasn't that good, but he got a favorable review every week.

I think they put some rockers in there to broaden (spell?) the appeal of the show... and so far it's working... they had a record number of votes. The one plus I have on my side is that I like a lot of different kinds of music and I enjoy listening to all of them. Although I don't care too much and won't buy a CD by Bo, Constantine or Carrie, I (assume you do to) I'm enjoying the hell out of this show. In fact I've downloaded some of the songs, burned them onto a CD and actually is listening to them as we speak and almost all of them has put out a great song at one time or another. I actually enjoy listening to Scott Savol then watching him on TV. Did you think that Constantine's version of the Bonnie Raitt classic sounded good for his singing style? I thought so. Now Vonzell could've been voted out of the show a while back because she was doing subpar and forgettable songs. Then all of a sudden Simon pointed out that "if you don't start picking songs to show your talent, you're going to be voted off" and she took that advice and really stepped it up! and wow... now I look forward to seeing her perform. She has really caught my eye and I'd keep her over Jessica Sierra any day.... I'm really looking forward to seeing Anwar Robinson, Anthony Federov bounce back with their biggest effort this week. Anwar needs to pick a song that has himself showcased with the big notes at the end and not any pitchiness... or I must say he will be in the bottom 3 again. Anthony needs to go back to something uptempo and keep that smile on his face or he will also be back in the bottom 3. Scott Savol has his work cut out for him after his past caught up with him. Or it might work to his advantage... Bo/Carrie have been inconsistant and the wow effect has wore off on me slightly... but they both have powerfull vocals. Nadia I believe her time is up... she really needs to pick a great song in order to keep herself in the competition. If they have Disco week.... I betcha Constantine is gonna go over the top and do YMCA... :D or maybe he should just shut up and do FLY, ROBIN, FLY. |

Tough songs this week. Enjoyed Carrie and Nadia and thought Vonzell was good too. I'm thinking Anthony Federov may be leaving this week.

I missed it this week except for Anwar, Bo and Nadia and then the brief highlights at the end. ----- Bo --- terrible . His attitude about the song catagory and the stupid song he wound up with ... he needs to go ..maybe he can do Vegas Celeb reviews impersonating David Clayton Thomas. Anwar ..... one Peabo Bryson was already one Peabo too many .... Nadia .... that was a surprise .. the first performance this year I actually want a download of ...... didn't see any other highlights that interested me except Carrie's. I think this is becoming hers to lose.

I had DVR problems last night.... and I fell asleep 15 minutes before the show began... I was super pissed. Anyways, tough tough night for them... no more musicals! lol Nikko didn't deserve to go this week... he was just gettin' really good. Top 3 BO, CARRIE & CONSTANTINE Middle VONZELL, NADIA === should be safe next week Bottom 3 ANTHONY, ANWAR & SCOTT one of these guys will be leaving us.

Tonight's performances: (*) NADIA TURNER - Looked fantastic as always but of all the songs from 1977 she didn't pick a very known song. She sang it well though but at the same time just a little boring... *** BO BICE - Over the last few weeks... Bo has been just OK and not as earth shattering compared to the first few weeks he was on the show... He needs to go over the top in order to win this competition or some other favorites are gonna sneeeeek in there. ***1/2 ANWAR ROBINSON - OK of a song choice... he finally took some advise and sing the whole song even the low notes... he was way better tonight than he has in a few weeks. Time is running out for him because his stage presence isn't as strong as others. **1/2 ANTHONY FEDEROV - Perfect song for him!!! A little pitchy at the beginning but absolutely a song that he could put on an LP .... ummm excuse me a CD  I really feel sorry for Anthony because his time is coming to an end ... it could be tomorrow. ***1/2 VONZELL SOLOMON - 3 consecutive weeks with great songs, looking like a star & growing on people. She really could give Carrie a run for her money if she continues to pick great songs goes over the top!!! GO VONZELL!!!! **** SCOTT SAVOL - ooooooh boy... when he first started singing... I thought I was gonna have to turn down the volume... but he picked it up when the chorus came in... and wowowowowowoww Scott!!! It's getting close to the end for him. It might come tomorrow. *** CARRIE UNDERWOOD - Another steady performance for which she's really never stank up the place. It's refreshing to watch her do rock songs... because of all the music genre's... country just isn't my cup of tea. ***1/2 CONSTANTINE MAROULIS - You know of all the vocals he has the worst that is left in the competition, but his stage presence & likeability is what's keeping him in. It wouldn't surprise me if he wins it all. **** bottom 3: SCOTT, ANTHONY & NADIA
