In reply to Videoskooter.
I remember a while back I was booted from this "Forum" by the "freedom loving, open minded" Liberals because they didn't agree with what I was saying (posting). At the time, this place was crawling with Commies, radical Socialists, and all type of mentally defficient Marxists. I used to go by the name Fantomas.

for me its the private message thing the way that was done was just too harsh, it would have taken less words to say f*** you,and besides that i dont feel the reason was the space thing,i recieved a p.m a day before inviting me to join a u.k site something like 'we need people like you there' maybee others got that too? anyway i think members deserved someting better than that, im not really including myself here im talking about others who do more work typing submitting label scans etc. just way too harsh not even a warning
maybee were all guilty of not thinking of good topics to post,to be truthfull i dont want to come home from work and discuss boogie oogie oogie whats the point?
the gay bashers dont really bother me cos you never gonna change their minds but i do object to comments from members who tell others tone it down if you want to be accepted ill defend anyone who is in a minority and is spoken to like that,my run ins with quinny are legendary, im sure sometimes other members must think im a psycho sometimes :o but ive never had a cross word with any other member in 3 years. ive never actually stated on here if im gay straight or tri-sexual nobody really knows and why should they need to, i come here for the music :P

Yeah, what's with the private messaging thing, they really don't take up that much space! And I think the fact that they were taken away with a 'no further discussion' attutide was really fucked.

Now listen up everyone. I'm as straight as the next man. And even the man I'm next to. This who's gay-er than who stuff simply must stop here and now. I don't say this because I'm a repressed British-Stiff-Upper-Lipped individual...Oh no!! And, for that matter, neither do I say it because I secretly ogle my musclebound neighbour while he's gardening in his vest on a hot summery day...Ooooh...

I'm fed up of all this...So I'm going to champion all that is Macho: Peter Allen. Liberace. Elton John. George Michael. And Alexis Arquette. All fine examples of 100% meaty manhood.

Here's to tett...tist...testosterone.

Long live Rue Paul.

If this is a HE-MAN DISCO LOVER's site--NO SISSYS ALLOWED, as some would seem to prefer it..... then let the testosterone, sports, pussy-talk and other "guy things" flow.

BUT, trying to keep the GAYS out of a DISCO site seems like a lost cause. Face it, it's considered "GAY" music by your fellow breeders. Now, I know, you've suffered untold indignities at the hands of your straight friends because you love this music--hence, your "sensitivites" may be a tad raw & vulnerable.

I can't speak for the "others", but I think a little "controversy" keeps it interesting. But, it's always STIFELED IMMEDIATELY lately. Of late, I have little to respond to.

I'm waiting for someone to post something interesting. I'm waiting........................................... .......
Marky: This may astound you, but..... not everyone shares your sense of humour. Doesn't mean we're humourless and I don't see a sign saying "you must laugh at all jokes". In effect, all you've just said is "I'll tolerate you if you LOVE me". Sorry pal, but that's one way traffic. In fact I've bounced offa yous on many occasions and never had any problems (except you tend to defecate all over me given half a chance).

The fact that certain members don't post anymore sorta proved my point, didn't it?. They made a drama out of nothing really and took umbridge where none was intended. Net result, they threw their toys out of the pram. Very grown up, tolerant behaviour, eh?

If a little controversy keeps it interesting, why did the Gay police come down on me like a ton of turds? Simple answer is because beneath it all, Gays are just as cynical, just as hypocritical, just as tyranical as anyone else, maybe even more so.

BTW: Just in case anyone's in doubt it was Nicky who tended to try to keep things ultra tight and not allow any shenanigans. I like him much more as a poster than a mediator.

This had as much to do with Gay's intolerance towards anyone who might criticise them, as much as that person's supposed phobia of them. The fact that some of them have left in a fit of pique says a lot more than thousands of words. Marky, it was you who asked about 2 years ago whether or not the board was too Gay? I said then that it could be at times, so my position hasn't changed and I assumed you, at least, would welcome a little slap on the wrist, so to speak, if anyone thought the Gayness quotient was becoming a might overbearing.

I have NEVER considered Disco as Gay music per se. You have to realise that the disco world didn't only revolve around you guys.

FYI: Yes I did go away.....to Spain, for 12 days.

Have I called anyone names? Have I got really personally insulting? Have I ever said that I'd prefer this as a HE MAN, NO SISSY site? NO!!! So, please cut the crud.

b   gie   gie   gie everyone.

Yikes. I have no right to get involved in any of this since I'm new, and haven't posted in awhile. Was in New Orleans.

Ummmm. I wanted to include Liza in the HEIGHT thread, but was afraid to. Seriously.

May I just add though? Being an "old head", and a chick....I worked with all gay men in my Disco days, and partied with them after work. Man, they were the best times of my life. Meanwhile I often clubbed with my straight girlfriends, and we had a good time, but the gay clubs always had better DJ's, and I got better dance partners with the boys.

BTW There were some of the most beautiful boys in New Orleans, and I'm old, but I just had to tell them. Now I'm a Mrs. Robinson.

Default There's a time and a place...

There is a Forum in this website for something like "anything other than disco." It's something like the lunchroom we have at my facility. That is where employees may choose to discuss things like where they're going to go after work, how things are going with their significant others, where they're going on vacation or for the weekend, who they've fucked last night, whether or not they masturbate, how much they liked the drugs they did last night, etc. etc. HOWEVER, when we work together, we tell jokes (that do not hurt one another, nor our clients), we sometimes throw things at one another, but we never, ever, ever discuss personal matters, including sexuality, politics nor religion with anyone except a manager (usually me) and then only when the employee feels his/her boundaries are being violated.

This website is a vast source of information and a great meeting of minds. It's a case of the value of the whole being far greater than the sum of the parts. Couldn't we consider the "Subjects other than disco" Forum thread the correct area in which to discuss with whom and exactly how we had sex recently, or whom we are lately drooling after, whether celebrity or the boy/girl next door? (E.g., our "lunchroom.")

The rest of this website is an historical record, and an argument among mostly well-informed professionals and onlookers who were present for the era(s) that are herein being examined, as well as an accumulation of new data being recorded and commented on as it evolves.

Wouldn't it be silly if my corporate records reflected "Caught first set on digital; balance good but high frequency of vocals a bit muddy because of that silly Queen Kenneth; too busy adjusting his nylons" or "Noticed during playback that female vocalist had huge knockers -- all the more reason to feature her image on album cover!"

Won't work. Methinks we can have plenty of fun; plenty; with the music. It's kinda like trying to have fun after giving up cocaine. It sure took me a long time.

can't we all kiss and make up....

I do admire everyone for being honest about everything.... it's one of the reasons why I still come here. Besides, I liked reading all the drama... lol

It's the music that brings us together, per se ... ?

Rightly said efunk. Drama is fun but music discussion is more (at least to me). Shame about the loss of PM options though.

All 'n all..I'd say we're still doing pretty good around here :)
