Question why did Uruguays two most
promising players

Nelson Cuevas (River Plate)
sit on the bench altough it was because of him Uruguay made it through to the second round

and
Tomas Gaetan Guzman
was not even picked

What kind of sick coaching was that
Cesare Maldini?

Hey sutnop, you're confusing Uruguay with Paraguay! "Pipino" Cuevas was "on the bench" like you say because of a hurting during practices between the two matches. Sadly, because he is a great player.
About Italian Maldini, he had a big media fight with goalkeeper Chilavert back home. The Paraguayans are cutting him in pieces in the papers.

Some People would interpret that as a racist remark

he is rocking waves it is a fashion among many people

It was not a racist remark. No offence was intended.

It is called A SENSE OF HUMOUR!! Though I must admit, we English do have a very dry sense of humour

Ease up a bit, mate!!!!!!!!

Be cool Jazz. Racist commentary??? Where???

Anyway, that hair cut is ridiculous!

In a quick survey by internet in Brazil, 93% of the people said: What kind of hair is that???? Ridiculous!!

Peace.

Ricardo, the game is about to start.......I'm really tense at the moment. :???:

From now on I'll be praying to be your "enemy" for the next few days.

P.S. Congratulations to you and the Germany. Well done!!

Peace.

Thanks, Blax. I am keeping cool...

Just off to watch the match ... I am rooting for ya, Blax/Zeca/Boodikka and all

BTW, if anyone does think I am racist, maybe they should read my post entitled "Friday Night Disco Parties in Brazil and in England" in the "What We Are Listening To This Week" section, which I posted shortly after Brazil beat England 2-1. It proves that I have a good sense of humour and can laugh at myself. If that is racist, then it is racist against MYSELF!!!

Peace to you all

Hi guys! Two things:

1) Jazz's comment is not racist in any way, shape or form. It is a joke which, by the way, is very common in Latin America. In Venezuela we use "lawnmowers" and "pencil sharpeners" for that very same joke. (I know somebody now will hit me back with some remarks about my "intolerance" for foul language. There is a BIG difference between the gratituous use of foul language and the oversensitivity of some people)

2) Congratulations Blaxman. Good match! Now prepare to be run over by the German PANZERS! (No, that is not a racist remark. It is a joke!!!!!)

Seriously, I am looking forward to this match. As I said before, this final has the ingredients to be one outstanding one. Klose, Jenkel, Bierhoff, and Khan against Marcos, Rivaldo, and Ronaldo? Get your VCRs ready; it should be an unforgettable match!!!

And, once again, I hope football comes out the winner. Fair play.

P.S: I'll say Germany 2 - Brasil 1 but, frankly, I got a hunch that it's going to be the other way around.

Well, the Turkey has been stuffed, and now we will see a great Final between 2 great teams.
One thing I've noticed is how quickly Univision became became BIG backers of Brasil once Mexico and the other Spanish-speaking Latin American teams were gone. I can't tell if I'm watching Univision or Globo.
The garotinhas here in NYC, especially the paulistas, watch the games, root for Brasil, are happy when they win, then complain because Kaka did not play. Of course, that's nothing compared to the people who blame Scolari because the team isn't scoring more goals.

Thanks. I'm definitely sure that will be the outcome, and besides I would rather see Brazil win it than Germany, mainly because Germany knocked the U.S. out of the tournament.

Just got back from celebrating
sure got happy Brazil won

Those Brazilians Chicks have little shame in their bodies
when Brazil stands as the victor at the end of a game...

Has anyone else enjoyed the Samba tooday by the way....

It was a great party
THe Brazilian community really knows how to celebrate
and the funny thing is they are so sure of victory so the Celebration started way before the game„was over and didn't end after long hours afterwards

Blaxman
I hope your out celebrating
with your people don't spend too much time posting posts here
get out and Dance!!

you have to savour a moment like this
this will probably be BRazil's Last World Cup victory Ever!
