For some people is really hard have some fun!! Sad people, I say!

We cant agree with suicide (sorry about this tragedy), whatever is the reason, a ball game, terrorism, illness. But saddly, that things happen!

Anyone believes that just the SOCCER FANS are "narrow minded"?

Basket fans, American Football fans, any other sport fans dont have his own problems or illness or something else???

I dont think reasonable kill yourself because anything!!! Nor even kill each other for political, economical or racial reasons!

Let's take the sport away from this, for some poor countries, soccer is the only way to be proud for anything. For some others.....nothing.

Peace. Let's keep the World Cup peacefully roll.

Boys, I am so excited about the game! I understand that your British tabloids have been writing a lot of sh.....umm, err, spit about the Brasil side. Well, the Brasil papers appear to writing their fair share, as well. Good luck in this battle of "feijoada versus fish n' chips".

AI AI AI AI AI AI AI AI

ITALY just lost against Korea.
and my dear Belgium lost against Brazil yesterday.
2 more favorites gone.
what a surprising WorldCup this has been untill now. But also a very nice one, with fantastic matches!

(Oh, and I think that us Belgian Devils played a fantastic game against Brazil yesterday. We scared them more than once, and had bad luck with the referees disqualifying a great goal from Belgium. Just as the Italians had bad luck with their referee today)

I agree with you Nonkel, congratulations about Belgium game play. I think referee was wrong about that play too! I have to say, everbody in Brazil is commenting the same.....but saddly this "errors" are part of the game, like use to say FIFA's managers.

And finally.......yeahhh! Italy is out!!!

This will turn the things better to any other country to win the cup.

Peace.

Blax, meu amor, let's hope for a great game!
Uncle Nonkel, Belgium played a great game, and the goal should have been allowed. This has really been an awful Cup in regards to the officiating, the worst example being Cameroon-Germany. The American announcer on ESPN this morning went so far as to imply that the Ecuadorian referee was getting back at Italy for the Ecuadorian loss! They have to
start using officials from non-competing countries in order to dispel even a semblance
of collusion.

Well, seems Italians are bad losers... big deal. Wait til Spain gets out too! Those guys' minds are really inflated because of their Casillas, but they don't deserve the Cup either.
The Italy team was good but they deserve this for playing safe against Korea (I mean, what would they have done against England or Brazil?
And about that guy's suicide... don't worry, nobody in Argentina killed himself for being out the Cup. We have plenty of other reasons here, and still we don't do it.

You know, there were whole discussions in the media about what should we support. The arguments were like this:
-FOR BRAZIL: because they're our South American brothers, jogo bonito, etc. etc. And England bring us to memories of the Malvinas war, plus they beat us on the Cup, etc. etc.
-FOR ENGLAND: basically this should be "AGAINST BRAZIL", that is, Brazil were always our traditional football enemy and so we should be happy if they lose, even if that means England to win.
Here in Buenos Aires I think the opinions are fifty/fifty. Personally I like both teams, I like Brazil people and culture, and can't forget the Beatles and plenty of other bands were born in England. So, let's say I will cheer for whoever plays best.
But then, remember the game is at 3.30 AM and I have my worst day of the workweek on Friday! Most probably I will sleep through it.

Blax - what's the atmosphere like in Brazil?

Here the excitement is really mounting - what a massive game it's gonna be!!

I'm happy to tell you that our respect for the Brazilian football team is enormous. On the TV this morning they started with a Brazilian samba band on the beach at one of our seaside resorts...My morning newspaper (www.independent.co.uk) has pages and pages on the prospects for the game, how pwople will be watching it etc... It starts at 7.30 am here. Most people will either be in the pub or at work early. They are laying on extra early morning trains. When we played Nigeria I got a train at 6.01 am (scary!!) and that was FULL. It will be the same tomorrow - only WORSE. My son's school will be opening early and they will be showing the match on a big screen in the school hall, and will be serving croissants and cornflakes for breakfast at half time!! Very civilized!

We have a video conferencing room at work, and the match will be shown there (as have all the games) on a wonderful 72-inch screen.
We have a great atmosphere!!!

I have also heard that they will be showing the match live on a massive 30 metre screen in Trafalgar Square in the centre of London.

How the hell do you cope - watching at 3.30am? Do you go to bed early and then get up? Do you stay up all night? And what about work the next day? Do you sleep in?

My message to BRAZIL - Good luck to both Teams and may the winner go on to win the Cup!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Dear Jazz,

Here in Brazil the atmosphere is tense and exciting at same time. Of course the English Team deserves respect!! And be sure, they will be respected. The press is call the game: "THE CREATOR vs. THE CREATURE", you know......you create the football and we.....

The game time here is 3:30 am (my god!!). As you know in the south hemisphere we are entering in to winter and my town (in south of Brazil) is one of colder cities in the country, the weather forecast is something about 6 to 8 degrees (Celsius). A cold night!! We (Me, my wife, my son and my stepson)will go to sleep normally then wake up at time of the game. Surely we are watch the game from the bed, below the blankets, drinking hot chocolate!!!!

Man!!! I'm typing this post....and I started to be nervous!!! What a game!!!!

Well.....so, good luck to you my friend.

May the best win!!
