I'm sure glad to hear that. I saw a little bit of the USA-Poland game before going to work, and the score was 2-0 Poland at the time, so I was worried that the USA would fail to advance. But since Portugal lost they will go ot the next round, so I'm relieved. To me this is as exciting as the Lakers winning the NBA championship.

OK, few post here lately so I will add some juice. Seems Spain has their own "Goycochea" in their goalkeeper Casilla... The Irish are crying once again. And long live Senegal, who beat the Swedish and got revenge for Argentina!
Sorry Boodi, but tomorrow I'm cheering for Mexico to win the US. Mexicans play well and plus it's the land of our greatest football joyride ('86 Cup).
Come on pals, if your team is out that doesn't mean you have to quit losing sleep to catch matches like "Japan vs. Turks"... Cheer up, the best is yet to come.
By the way I remembered, wasn't it Diana Ross who ended her musical number in the opening for USA '94 kicking a penalty out of the area? And the goalkeeper went to the floor like it was a goal! (Even the "arco" went down.) LOL during weeks... Just don't tell Marky, OK?

Ok guys, now that I'm back, and since my first predictions were totally worng I am going to make some new ones: The final will be between Brazil and Germany, with Germany winning 2-1.

I think the key for Germany will be to have Klose, Jenkel, and Bierhoff playing at the same time. I see more team play among the Germans than among the Brazilians. I'm sure Blaxman will agree.

With these three forwards playing together Germany can beat Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and friends.

But then again, the final may end up being Italy/England or Spain/Turkey or who knows!

As you all know, the big USA-Mexico showdown is tomorrow, and you know who I'll be rooting for. I think that the USA has a really good chance at winning this game, and of course I'm sure hope they do. Then bring on Germany.

And now we're gonna be "enemies" until the friday, uh?

I just saw in the stadium the following quote:

-England, here we go!!
God help the Queen!!!!

Jazz, just kidding. I'm really scared about this game. Good luck to you, and may the best team win!

Peace.

Enemies with you ??? - NEVER!!

For any TRUE football fan, England v Brazil has got to be a mouth-watering prospect!! I know that, in England, the whole country will come to a complete standstill!!!

WIN or LOSE, I will enjoy the match. I mean, if we go out to Brazil, then we will not have disgraced ourselves...

And I am nervous too!! And do you know why, Blax?? Because I think this England v Brazil context is evenly matched and either team has a good chance of winning !!! For both teams, the WORLD CUP is so close!!!

I say to you as well - MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN !!!

Peace to you

PS, Blax, have you been on the message boards of fifaworldcup.com ?

Some of the things that people have posted there are utterly SICK.

For me, like for you, the World Cup is about enjoying this wonderful game TOGETHER...

Congratulations Blaxman!

England - Brasil.. That should be one awesome match.

I'm also VERY happy to see the U.S. moving on. I missed the match but I understand it was very good. After Germany, my team will always be the U.S. After all, I have lived in this country for 13 years now and I consider it my home. As for the Germany -U.S. match I'll be cheering for both teams. I hope Germany wins because I would like to see a good final (Brasil - Germany or England - Germany.) I just hope the U.S. play a good match. I'd love to see a 2 -1 result in favor of Germany. Above all, I want to see a good, even match between two very good teams.

Oh, what a sport! I love it!!!!

Let me say something, Jazz. This current English team is the best (England team) that I ever saw. I watched the game with Denmark, and "I'm do not like what I see"!!!
England smashed the good Denmark team in only 30 minutes!! After this, the game becomes a single practice.

I heard the former brazilian player Socrates saying: The England is playing like a champion!........and I think the same.

This will be a great game!!!! Oh Yeah!

Peace.

P.S. I like so much Senegal game, but I dont know. They play beautyfully but their defense is much weaker than brazilians defense.

You're sure, I agree with you.

But, I prefer the good looking football played by England, Brazil and Senegal than
that mechanical football played by Germany.

Well........let see what happens!!

Peace.

I just heard that USA beat Mexico 2-0. That is so awesome. I'm not surprised they won, considering that they've beat Mexico in recent games (though to my knowledge this is their first meeting in the World Cup). I don't ever think USA has ever got this far. I know it would be a major upset if USA beats Germany, and of course I hope it happens.

Well, finally an interesting match! I can't wait to see England vs. Brazil. Just hope the winner will have not to play then against Turkish or Japan...

One more things: Soccer fans have taken this sport waaaaay to serious---IT'S ONLY A SPORT !!! When people base their national identity and pride on the outcome of a sporting event, the outcome is inevitable tragic. I'll be damn if I'm going to measure my worth and identity on a bunch of guys kicking a ball all over a patch of grass. It's pathetic when you see whole nations cry like little babies and kill each others over the outcome of a goal---NARROW MINDS ABOUND EVERYWHERE.

NARROW MINDED??? Nah MATE, JUST HAVING A GOOD TIME!!!!!
