The VCR thing I guess our dear friend DJ Phil has another copyright issue on his mind wouldn't savouring this great World Cup moment on our VCR be stealing from Fifa? at least it would be in that twisted kind of logic and in that case we should all by the licensed World Cup 2002 DVD that Fifa will release some months after Tooday..... If you hope football comes out the winner then you can not possibly hope for Germany I mean even Venzeuela play more football then germany. Germany play to destroy Football, they will play to destroy Brazil's game, But the Creative touch of Flair from PSG will be in the next game and they can't touch Ronaldinho........ we all know that! I have no predictions for the Game it can go anyway. but for the sake of football I hope for Brazil This is Creativity vs Destructivness This is the inovation, creativity, the flair, human genious vs the still, diciplined, machine mentality that Germany have. The Artists vs The Terminator Machines |

| Some MAthematical Logic for those who thing that stuff like that matters for prediction if you take the Greatest World Cup Ever 1982 and then count one world Cup Forward and one World Cup back from there you will get this outcome 86 (+4) 78 (-4) Argentina Victors Both Times 90 (+8) 74 (-8) Germany Victors Both Times 94 (+12) 70 (-12) Brazil Victors Both times 98(+16) 66(-16) Host NAtions Victors Both Times 2002(+20)62(-20) BRazil Victors in 62 so if the mathmatical logic should be correct they should turn out victors even this time.... IF you didn't like that then check this out Add up Brazil's two last World Cup Victories 1994 1970 + = 3964 Germany's last two golds 1990 1974 + = 3964 Argentina's last two World Cup Golds 1986 1978 + = 3964 All get this Number 3964 so that number has gotta to me something so if we try to subtract that number by this year 3964 2002 - = 1962 who won in 1962 Brazil won so this year the Victor should be Brazil! if Logic Prevails

| Personally I am quite the sceptic to mathmatical logic After all that is a method more fit the german style of football and character then the brazilian I personally Believe in Tradition Tradition says that only ones has a non European team conquered on European Soil AND NEVER I Repeat NEVER has a European Team won a non-European Soil Some Journalists here used it as an excuse to say that it was not a case of Non-European Soil but American soil (Sout, Central and North) which I think is bullshit Why do you think the Europeans have been so keen on getting 2006 hosted in Europe and not South Africa why has every second World Cup since its orgin been hosted in Europe? ANyways the power of tradition is strong too strong for the Germans Just as it was for the ITalians in 94 and for the Brazilians in 98 and for Maradona in 90

| Hi everybody! I'm still trying to figure out some of the messages posted here lately... definitely interesting points of view, albeit incomprehensible for me. Jazz, thank you for your kind words. Considering where they come from, I value them very, very much. Germany is, definitely, the team people love to hate. I can understand why but, nonetheless, I remain fiercely loyal. Let's hope both Germany and Brasil bring out the best in their teams and give us a good display of organized, disciplined Germany football, and festive Brasilian futebol. For the good of the sport, may the best, fairest team win. |

| Hi guys! Don't worry Jazz, I do have a sense of humor! That's why I regret to inform you that you are cheering for a team that, unfortunately, will have to go back home with second place at the World Cup. I'm truly sorry, mate. I invite you, and all our other football friends, to join me in cheering for the team that will certainly win: Germany. A gentleman I am sure you are familiar with once said: "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing fields... we shall never surrender" Well, Germany will score on the pitch; will score with Bierhoff; will score with Jankel; will score with Klose, will score even with Khan! By the way, that gentleman is my one of my favorite historical characters. For those of you who may not know who I am talking about, I'll give you a hint: Born in 1874, died in 1965. |

| from what I hear The Germans don't seem all to optimistic this time Franz Beckenbauer also nicknamed the KAiser and undoubtley Germany's best and most influential player throughout history Said and I quote This German Football Team should be placed in a big sack and ones they are in it. The sack should be thrown to the crowd so that everyone can kick on them. On another matter just a bit of proof why I hate German football Ruudi Voller openly called Michael Ballack a hero for taking a yellow card in the Semi Final and being suspended for the final. The crazy thing in this event is not him being a hero or not. But that the coach openly admits that he wants his players to commit ugly fouls which result in yellow cards.... and that he openly and publicly supports players who commit these otrocities Have Germany ever heard of Fair Play How can it be considered Fair Play.... when the Germans include count on bending the rules and not playing by them just to acheive the win that is low sportmanship.....

| Hi guys! I have my doubts about that quote from Beckenbauer. I don't recall ever hearing him talk that way. I do know he was very upset when England thrashed Germany 5-1 in Munich during qualifyings but I doubt he would say anything like that. Maybe Sutnop has better access to information than I do. As far as the yellow card in question, I have to say that I agree with the principle of fair play. Ballack commited a foul for which he deserved a yellow card. He commited that foul knowing that he would probably be ejected or, at best, he would miss the final. He sacrificed himself for the benefit of the team. I think that sacrifice is what Voeller praised in his comments. I doubt Voeller would praise unsportsman-like behavior. Football --like life itself-- is not perfect and, as much as I hate it, sometimes teams have to use tactics that are not quite right. Ballack's foul is a good example. A team that is ahead 1-0 and then "freezes" and turns a good match into a boring one is another good example. I don't like it but that is life. Let's go back in time to 1986 and Maradonna's "Hand of God." We all know that goal should not have counted; Maradonna pushed the ball with his arm. England lost and Argentina went on to win the Cup. Is that right? No, it is not but it is life. By the way, that fellow is a good example of how some people can become blind to reality. Maradonna was a very talented player. He could have been the greatest. Unfortunately, he got into the problems we all know and became a pitiful human being. And, quite frankly, I don't think the poor fellow even qualifies for that title. A miserable, lousy, messed-up, cheating drug addict is the way he should be drescribed. what a waste of talent! And some people still insist he is the greastest player of all time??? For that distinction we need to look no farther than that gentleman called PelÈ. THAT is the greatest player of all times. And on top of that, he is an example for all generations: classy yet dwn to earth, decent, and honorable. Some people tried to tarnish his image while he was involved with politics and they couldn't do it! That speaks volumes about Pele. |

he thought that USA dominated Germany and considered the Germans lucky mostly thanks to the referee. After the Korea game he withdrew this statement however......... As For Maradona he was the greatest there is little doubt about that Pele was a more universal player,,,,, But MAradona could of made Slovenia into world champions........ He is and was the deciding factor between two teams... Pele was just about the most creative and universal forward of his time..... But Football 30-40 years ago was a lot different. And I doubt that I Player with similar skills to Pele in toodays Football enviornment would be able to make the same impact........ I mean his ball speed wasn't lightning fast like that of MAradona or Ronaldo....
