Halle Berry gets the Pitof treatment

Halle Berry will be appearing as "Catwoman" soon - should anyone give a damn? Yes, because Halle is directed by the amazing Pitof, the mastermind behind "Vidocq", one of most visually delirious fantasy films ever. Think of images of those vintage View Master 3-D apparatuses going mad with movement, sex and violence, that's Vidocq. the French seemed not to care that much when the film got realesed 2 years ago but everywhere else it's now a genuine a cult film. Can't wait can't wait.

I find it ironic that Halle, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful & lusted after women in the world, gets repeately cheated on by her husband. He's a sex addict, right? The thing is Marky, often times women who know they're fine generally are lousy in bed. Not only is she fine but she is believed to be one of the best looking women in the world. When it's like that, I'd get the impression that from her point view you should be jus' happy gettin' some :-? Cool as long as it's not a marriage relationship or something like that. Perhaps that may explain Justice and Eric steppin' out. Like Betty Wright said, you gotta keep the home fires burning...or something like that.

I rented that Vidocq movie some time ago without really knowing what it was. it's worth watching for the visuals if not really for anthing else...a bit like J-Lo's "The Cell" if you ask me

The story of Vidocq is a piece France's literary heritage. It has been filmed quite a number of times and been made as a tv series. The Pitof version focuses on visuals, but as Hitchcock, Pudovkin and Truffaut put it, never mind the actors or the story, images and technique are what cinema is all about... :o

I don't see a that big a resemblance apart from the fact that both films focus on visual style, or ott visual excess if you like. Vidocq is a period piece. There's a traditional whodunnit-storyline with supernatural elements, underground laboratories, alchemists, opulent bordellos, opium dens, jolting shock moments, wonderful sets and costumes and good actors like Gerald Depardieu as opposed to the totally useless J-Lo. The Cell is Hollywood, Vidocq is not.

Unfortunately, Halle is classic case. She is someone caught in a paradox. Her father left her and her mother when she was young. So the cycle begins. She will continue to meet men who will 'leave'. Or, abuse. She's had some decent relationships though, as her college boyfriend entered her picture into a beauty pageant without her knowledge, and she won.

Apparently, Wesley Snipes came out and said that he did not beat her up making her deaf in one ear, when they where seeing each other during filming Jungle Fever. He credits Christopher Williams with that honour. I have yet to hear what Mr. Williams said in response.

Sexy girls like Halle don't indulge in...oral activities. :roll:
