Yah but, ya gotta do a disco song to earn that title. Where's the disco song?

By the way my gay friends. Do you guys find him that appealing?

Hey tall Paul...do you mean me?

I think that cover is awful. Big mistake. I think he is a pretty good singer--but why the airbrushed glamour girl LP cover? Maybe I'm old-school--but I say change the cover, dude. You ain't Shirley Bassey, bitch.

I can only speak for myself, but my answer is a resounding NO. I like men who look like men. Androgyny does not appeal to me at all.

Actually, this goes well beyond androgyny... I mean, come on, this guy makes Andy Bell look like a construction worker.

Maybe not. It's already gathered a lot of attention, which is the whole point of an album cover, and isn't easy to pull of these days when everyone is so jaded. I heard it mentioned on the radio today, and they described it as "really weird".

I guess I've been out too long, because camp factor 9 shots don't seem weird to me at all, just... camp.

You might be right. But it seems to marginalize him into the "camp" section of Pop--which isn't exactly a big market. [Liberace....uh...Liberace--oh, Peter Allen--Andy Bell--Sylvester--Boy George....who else?] "La poo-bliss-i-taaaay" might get him some notice--but he's already famous. He's been on the cover of the Rolling Stone with a snake in his crotch, fer chrissakes!

Now Marky, you know I would get in trouble if I answered this either way. Let's just say you were my original friend here so we will always have that bond

Well, given the reaction at work among the women here they love him. One here has already ordered his album. She thinks he's sweet and cuddly in a puppy kinda way. Her gay friend though says he's not butch enough.

Umm, Sandy. Your thoughts please

I'm so conflicted regarding this topic guyz. Although I find femaninity a turn-off sexually, I absolutely love it when people are androgynous and fuck with the stereotype images that the public expect. Although I regard myself as neither camp nor butch, I have often toyed with the idea of being more androgynous or feminine in my appearance but I would then alienate the masculine men that I've always wished to attract - why is it that on the gay scene men are usually only attracted to men who are like themselves? (The butch-fem thing doesn't seem to apply to male gay couples does it?) That's the beauty of getting older - I no longer try to be something I'm not which is good news 'cos I always looked terrible with a moustache! If I were a straight man I'd hope that I'd experiment with make-up & skirts 'cos that's quite subversive, whereas If I, as a gay man did it, people would say 'oh that's no surprise 'cos he's gay', so i don't. I'm very much a fan of the comedian Eddie Izzard & his views that men, gay/straight or whatever, should have equal 'clothing rights' to women who can wear pretty much whatever they like & nobody bats an eyelid (with or without false eyelashes!).

I think he perhaps assessed his career and asked himself,

"Do I wanna spend the next several years going the Bobby Sherman/ Clay Aiken route and consume my valuable time on earth performing light weight crap for clueless screeching 12 year old girls ....or would I rather bypass that bullsh*t ....
- be who I am (it is 2009 fer crying out loud ) , theatrically do it "my way" ... sink or swim ... and happily perform for whatever the crowd is that wants to go with it ..
.. "

quite a choice ....
