The Lewd Lizard films from HK were sort of entertaining at first. I trust most jaws dropped when the premise was introduced. A sad loner peeped on females doing their laundries. He snatched panties before they were washed, and proceeded to scratch dried female discharge off them. He then injected lizards with the white powder, turning the little reptiles into raving sex maniacs. The lizards attacked undressing women en masse, probing and wriggling their way into the bodies of their screaming victims who, starring in category 3 Hong Kong movies where political correctness never existed, enjoyed the experience before dying in pools of blood. Truly subhuman cinema of course but there was worse from Hong Kong to come during the mid 80's. The Centipede movies were considered a bit strong even by the most jaded of us. Real insects were used in these and poor actresses and actors were required to swallow big handfuls of the 8 inch long monsters, then throw them up on cue. Who enjoyed this stuff? Well, on the video circuit these films were quite popular as kind of Fear Factor prototypes, endurance tests for the gore fans. I gaught many on special midnight screenings and watched as clear 35mm film prints, these epics really did pack a punch. Some did not, though. The worst - meaning the most boring - were the follow-ups to the notorious The Men Behind The Sun, probably the grossest, most hard to watch piece of celluloid ever. Part 3 The Laboratory Of The Devil especially was truly a turgid let down, no vomit bags needed during that for sure. - Liza Minnelli was awful in ARTHUR 2, too.

Well, as Jacqueline Susann so well put it, Once Is Never Enough. Talking of Jacqueline, both the wonderful VALLEY OF THE DOLLS and it's equally fabulous sequel-in-name-only BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS are apparently about to come out in one dvd! That will be nearly 4 hours of non stop best ever movie dialoque. "When is the party going to start? - When we get there!".

The first one that pops into my mind is JAWS 3 and JAWS: THE REVENGE (Fourth one). The second installment, IMO, although not touching Spielberg's first, was not a bad effort and by no means the disgrace to the name that JAWS 3 and THE REVENGE created.

"Shock Treatment", the sequel to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" was a disappointment even to the man who created it. And I share everyone's disappointment with "Staying Alive", "Grease 2" and "Exorcist 2". And I've NEVER seen a sequel to a Disney movie that didn't disappoint me (they don't seem to know when to quit).

I have to agree. I am huge fan of the JAWS movies but JAWS : THE REVENGE is pretty dire. Even though it cost 20 million dollars to make it has a "made for TV" look about it. The best thing about this movie is Michael Small's excellent score!

There was a disco version of the score for Jaws 2, a medley by Flyer. I've only got a 7", could well be a full 12" exists, or even an album?!

Has anyone mentioned Star Trek? Good efforts from the first two flicks, then straight down the toilet with the rest. Quote:

| I'm not a real consumer of movie sequels, but I remember some dissapointments. The second movie of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET was just that, a nightmare. RAMBO II was also pretty bad (even being partially scripted by James Cameron), however it was not so much fun like the third (remember Mr. Rambo being hit by a missile?) But the time I felt insulted was when I rented HALLOWEEN III, made by the FX guy of the first two (he did some more duds since then). Man, not only this diverged completely from the first two films (where's Michael Myers?) but also the ending was like the worst piece of shit I had seen in my entire life (I was like 20 at the time). I've seen worse things since then, but still remember that era when my naive persona asked for something else from a B-class horror film.
