Does anyone remember the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls" that ran back in the early 80's?? I remember seeing the commercials for it on TV back then.

I would've loved to have seen that show being a big fan of the Supremes, Jennifer Holliday & musicals generally. In fact, its an ambition of mine to see any Broadway show as I'm sure it would be an experience & different to the West End in London which I have experienced a few times.

SteelyDan--

I've never seen a Broadway show either, unless you count going to Radio City Music Hall to see the Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes!!

In the spring of 1980, my mom and dad went to Broadway to see "Evita" when it was running there. They bought the soundtrack album, and although I'm not a musical-type, this is one musical I would want to see if I was old enough back then (I was almost 5 years old at that time). I would've loved to see Patti LuPone as Evita live on stage.

I've never seen Dreamgirls either but jennifer holliday's classic performance is not to be missed.

The soundtrack is out on cd, I just found out. Some of these braincells of mine are working way to slow.
