| Well, judging from last night's show....Miss Carmen would be the obvious choice, although Marine recruiting poster-boy Josh really sounded like a howling doggie last night. So I'd say Josh will hit the bottom three tonight along with Carmen (Satan's Spawn--this year's Nikki) and maybe Trenyce. Kimberly was roundly praised last night...so we'll see if that helps her stay in the top 3. Clay and Ruben don't have to worry. Entertainment Weekly's story about the "gay innuendo" says that Fox told Ryan and Simon/Simone to cool it with their disparaging gay banter. Last night, Ryan intro'd Simon's "girlfriend" ( a real live girl in jeans) to the home viewers. Then, he asked Simon about some guy ("Where's Arthur?" my friend Miss Livvy told me he asked.) Are they at it again???? Now, you Brits have led me to believe that the bitchy Simon was a "closet-case"--but the American press seems convinced he's a breeder. What's the truth????? Did I just presume Simon was "keeping it in the closet", even though I've seen photos of him in full drag in the tabloids??? I'm just askin'!!!!!!!!

| Talk radio is buzzing about last night's "American Idol"--at least here in LA, the birthplace of "shallow"... The buzz today: Is Randy too old & too establishment to be talkin' like a hip-hop teen with his "Yo Dawwwg" isms. He seems to be trying desperately to hang onto his "street cred". I say what street cred??? He produces fucking Mariah Carey not 50 cent, ferchristsakes!!!!!!!! Also, that Simon was planting the seed last night that Kimberly is to be Ruben's final competition--not Clay. The comment was that the producers ain't gonna have 2 guys standing on stage, holding hands like Kelly & Justin did last year. Soooo...Simon starts the Kimberly is now the competiton talk AND Clay belongs on Broadway doing a revival of "Phantom". There was other conspiracy talk in that the producers (Simon IS a producer) can manipulate the final votes to make the show go the way they want. Discuss amongst yourselves.

| Well, did people vote blonde last night? Or will Carmen actually be a goner this time? I think that she gave the worst performance of the group. I also thought that she gave the worst performances the last two or so weeks, and that she would have been booted off then, but she survived. But has her luck finally run out? We'll find out tonight. As for Clay not being what Simon is looking for (in Simon's words), we all know what Simon is looking for: Another generic pop singer. And there were rumors that last year's edition of the show was fixed, so it's not a surprise that there are rumors about this version. And I believe that they may be true. |

| Outsider, 50 Cent is the new critic's darling. He only has the #1 CD, the #1 and #5 singles and is the protege of Enemaman. He's a genuine THUG--been shot and stabbed and in prison--everything the youth of America want in their musical heroes.

| Yet another gangsta rapper? Christ, that's just what this world needs. Well, I will take a generic pop singer over a generic rapper any day. |

| Am I the only one that thought that Kimberley Locke was really good last night? I could see how she could give Clay some competition. Also, did she (Kimberley, not Clay :) ) remind anyone else of Deborah Cox? |

| Well, the inevitable happened: Carmen is out. I wasn't wishing for that or anything. I just knew that her run on the show would end this week, and I was right. |

| Carmen is OUT and it was long overdue! She should've got the boot before Ricky and Kimberly. Joshua you are next soldier - over & out! I'm soooooooooooooo sick of what's his name calling everbody dawwwwg    ! Every week he calls everyone dawg :x and what makes it worse is that he says it to the girls. One thing I know for sure is that in the Hood, girls don't address each other as dawgs - it's a guy thing. So his big head need to check himself and speak like a professional not as a street thug!. *DELIGHTFUL* |

| Yep, Carmen finally bit the dust last night. (Hey, she's only 17...but in over her head, at this point.) I think Kimberly Locke is real good--my point was that the producers seemed to be manipulating the viewers with their/his comment that now, SHE is The competition. Notice how they've kept it very equally male & female (so they can do those sad production numbers, i guess). Do they really want 2 MEN as finalists or 1 man & 1 woman? I think the latter is their desired outcome. I think they were planting that seed in the consciousness of America as of Tuesday's show. On another note, LA Weekly did an article saying that Josh was never goin' to Iraq because of his value as a recruitment tool poster boy for the Marines. At least, until he gets voted off...which should come in a week or two. when he doesn't do his Garth Broooks thing, he can be pretty bad. He sounded like he was in pain on Tuesday's show. Lastly, watching the judges (Simon, in particular) SUCK UP to spectacularly successful but still mostly a hack, songwriter Dianne Warren was truly sickening. I know she's written lotsa big hits...but so many of them sound the same, I couldn't bear the asskissing. Also, I only think I'd ever previously heard a couple (If You Asked Me To, Love Will Lead You Back) of the songs they actually sang. And Miss Warren had no constructive criticism to give anyone. "You were great" was her standard comment. C'mon Dianne...you can do better than that. At least, add a "Dawwwg" and "Wut Up".

| Yeah, Diane Warren's songs are the epitome of generic pop, but isn't that what sells albums? I can tell that's all that matters to Simon (that explains the asskissing). Do you think that he would sign an artist who wouldn't be a surefire superstar but is talented and original? I would say no. |

| [quote="markydefad"]Yep, Carmen finally bit the dust last night. (Hey, she's only 17...but in over her head, at this point.) Hey Mark, did you see the online Entertainment Weekly article the other day? The reporter hit it right on the nose with her comment about Carmen's "harsh vibrato". That's the part of her voice that makes me cringe and rush for the Mute button on my remote! "Notice how they've kept it very equally male & female (so they can do those sad production numbers, i guess)." That's why I won't watch this show live (plus all the commercials!) - I have to tape it. It's too unbearable otherwise. :o The Mute and the Fast Forward buttons get a workout whenever I watch the show! "On another note, LA Weekly did an article saying that Josh was never goin' to Iraq because of his value as a recruitment tool poster boy for the Marines. At least, until he gets voted off...which should come in a week or two. when he doesn't do his Garth Broooks thing, he can be pretty bad. He sounded like he was in pain on Tuesday's show." I thought the Marines were suppose to be composed of people in excellent physical shape? What happened to Josh? As for his performance this week, don't you wonder if Dianne Warren coached him to sing like one of the boy bands? "Lastly, watching the judges (Simon, in particular) SUCK UP to spectacularly successful but still mostly a hack, songwriter Dianne Warren was truly sickening." You can say that again! Once again, I have to say that Gladys Knight has been the best of the guest judges so far. Ms. Knight actually used some intelligence, and wit, to come up with her comments. EW Online recommended they replace Paula with Gladys! And Miss Warren had no constructive criticism to give anyone. "You were great" was her standard comment. C'mon Dianne...you can do better than that. Billy Joel did the right thing by not appearing as a guest judge when they sang his song, as Dianne Warren demonstrated. How can you do a fair critique of a performer if part of the problem is that the song you wrote sucks? |

| I'd like to see either Clay or Kimberley Locke win the competition although the velvet whale Roooo-ben will probably end up the winner. |

| Tonight, the kids sung a few of Neil Sedaka's songs and my vote goes to Kimberly and Clay. I was waiting for someone to sing "Laughter In The Rain" but Trenyce came through and sung another fave "Love Will Keep Us Together". Once again I declare that the soldier's time is up! Did anyone catch the remark that Josh made at Simon - when Ryan said that maybe Simon dosen't like anything, Josh responded "Maybe he likes drag queens"! Simon trashed Josh's performance and my guess is that Josh probaly knows that he's down for the count therefore he went for the jugular. Earlier, Simon referred to Trenyce's performance as something seen at a drag queen show. *DISCO DELIGHT* |

| Perhaps Simon knows more about drag queens than we thought. |
