Why the "Jussik Files"? After watching Tarantino's "Death Proof" yesterday, I immediately thought of him, because we both share the interest for over the top 70's exploitation stuff. Let's make this thread of feast of trash! Are there other members who like this kinda stuff (I know Dayna does But....it has to be 70's material! It can be clips, posters, your memories, whatever. Let the gameZ begin with: "Torso" (1973) "Truck Turner" (1974) "Trouble Man" (1972)

I'm most flattered my name should be associated with 70's Trash Culture, Troubleman fashions and gabardine overall, stylish Camaro cars and hacksaws slicing away at Italian starlets in films like "Torso/I Corpi Presentano Tracce di Violenza Carnale(The Corpses present traces of carnal violence). What a thoughtful gesture, much appreciated. I would do my best to add video clips if I knew how to go about it. I once managed to install a jpeg image but that was it. I'll study the site and search for instructions. It's not a world gone by though. To re-live the good old nights of the 70's and early 80's when they really knew how to entertain us in Cinecittá and even in Hollywood, just check the recent French film A L'Interieur, now out on twodisc deluxe edition dvd, and featuring a completely crazed Beatrice Dalle as one of the most vicious and scary maniacs ever to try to slice open the belly of a pregnant heroine, with a pair of large scissors. Wasn't Miss Dalle in real life once convicted of shoplifting and attacking police officers..?

Well, here I go, in my attempt to bring to everyone's attention the incomparable Edwige Fenech herself, the real Queen of cinema, as seen in the opening montage of Mario Bava's Five Dolls For An Sugust Moon, dancing wildly in a sequined pair of gold lamé flares: No Edwige though...and if you click the text above it throws you to..HILLARY CLINTON! ...what am I doing wrong...this is mortifying... Videoskooter Edit: Fixed the embedding and now it's la Fenech! Last edited by Videoskooter; April 8th, 2008 at 02:36 PM. Reason: When you embed only use the code after the equal sign-Fixed the link.

Edwige Fenech was BIG. I also remember her from the big shows at the Italian Rai Uno! Now...this is a real cult classic and the DVD is just released in our stores. It's "The Sinful Dwarf" about a dwarf that kidnaps young women and does the most bizarre erotic games with 'em. The sick 70's???? Watch the clips very carefully and then think of....the popular "Chucky" series. IMO the producers of those 1's have watched this creepy pic from 1973 very good!

"The Sinful Dwarf" is one of the reasons people still cannot throw away their old vcrs as that Danish masterpiece from 1973 is not available on dvd - what's wrong with the Danes, why aren't they issuing it immediately? ( Check out their "Pusher" trilogy though, 3 extremely gripping Tarantino-meets-Cassavetes druglord dramas). From neighbouring Sweden, Bo Vibenius' "Thriller - a Cruel Picture/They Call Her One-Eye" from 1974 is out on dvd, another big Tarantino fave that inspired the look of Ellie Driver in the "Kill Bills". I for one would love to be transferred back to 1973 like that cop in the British "Life On Mars" tv series. Think how exciting it would be to wear those cool fashions for real and to go to cinema in them, with films like Dirty Harry, Clockwork Orange, Straw Dogs, The Devils, Enter The Dragon and the Polanski version of Macbeth opening every week! And in no time: disco.

The Thriller / They Call Her one Eye isn't a series, it's just one film - but what a film. Christina Lindberg stars as a country girl struck mute by a childhood encounter by a rapist. As a curvaceous teen, she gets lured into a car, driven to Stockholm and straight into forced prostitution. For trying to escape, she has one of her eyes poked out. This gives her the opportunity to wear color-coded eyepads while going on her rampage of revenge later on. The film has a strange atmosphere, a washed out and bleak look, and Lindberg has a commanding presence. There's a lot of grim sexual violence ( with h/c inserts), resulting the film having one fifth of it's running time removed for it's 1974 Swedish realese. In my country it was slapped with a total ban. |

And then...after Disco Duck had conquered the charts, he went to the movies! "The New York Ripper" was one weird and over the top slashbizarre, directed by the notorious Lucio Fulci: Next one is: The House That Dripped Blood (1971) Blood For Dracula (1974)

Now it's apparently offical - there will be a Torrente 4! Those of you not familiar with the jawdropping part one of the series, "Torrente - El Brazo Tonto De la Ley ( 1989), or the sequels created by Spanish actor/director/overall cool guy Santiago Segura, check the following clip out. In a nutshell, Torrente is a police officer with a fashion sense just like yours, and a way with the women, the kind you like. YouTube - Torrente-Mejor fragmento Now that's entertainment, right? And those chicas! Did you turn the volume up loud enough to hear Baccara singing in the background when they enter the whorehouse?

We should kneel down and regard these things as objects of worship. Why? Just have a look at the films playing at the multiplex near you. The Iron Man - yet another in the endless series of blatant, cynical scams to milk money out of cinemagoers who simply accept production line Hollywood blockbusters as the norm, movies that never surprise, never challenge and always provide the expected. Films as disposable junk food. Titles like Ricco or Simon King of the Witches at least make you take notice, get a reaction out of you. Exploitation, borderline arthouse/grindhouse oddities, horror, sexploitation, always something to get amazed about and to discover.
