Well you got your wish nrg....although I kinda liked her. I can see her softening her biker chick act and becoming more like Bonnie Tyler. But I can see why she was eliminated and why she didn't look too upset over it....I can't imagine someone with her un-tamed spirit following the rules of touring with the top ten.

Kristy and Ramiele need to go next which would then result in a very talented bunch of individuals although Jason Castro is pushing the David Cassidy knock-em-dead smiling act a bit much.

Seeing Carly Smithson in the bottom three was soooooo wrong...so so wrong. She did a beautiful job on the song Blackbyrd.

I don't understand the appeal of Jason Castro? He gets on my nerves for some reason.

It really was a lackluster week. Even though Michael (Aussie guy) and David (rocker guy) are good singers, I'm not a big rocker fan so I don't find myself really rooting for them.

David Archuleta--could he have picked a worse song to sing?

That girl Brooke seems so much older than 24. I think of her as a 35 year old Carly Simon wannabe.

I'm enjoying Dancing With The Stars more.

I'm loving this season's performers but, again, the guys are definitely more uniquely talented than the girls this year.

David Archuleta's song pickings have been really disappointing and unlikeable....most likely because of his background unfortunately. He seems to be choosing these inspirational songs and I thought Simon nailed it perfectly when he likened it to something that you'd see in a show production.

I think the thing that was so incredibly blatant was Kristy Lee Cook's choice of singing God Bless The USA....ohhh the tricks and schemes we do to save ourselves.

Syesha is interesting. She did a great job with If I Were Your Woman and the way she had her hair, she was the spittin' image of a young Whitney!

My favourite right now is David Cook. I love his interpretations of these pop songs he's choosing....taking romantic lyrics and twisting them into a darker realm....which ultimately gives them more meaning. This is the thing that I look for in music...someone showing their personality in song. Some day, when recorded music is no more a profitable business, we'll be left with the true artist again.

Here in the UK hey have 'fiddled' with the schedule in that they have your Tuesday show on Thursday and Wednesday's show on Friday, whereas previously they ran both shows back to back on a Friday. Thursdays are not a good night for me to watch TV - I'm either going to see a friend DJ, going to a pub quiz, or recording a radio show!!
On the bright side at least we don't get Cat Deeley interfering and anglicising the show this season!

Dolly Parton week was the BEST week so far .
Great songs well performed by most.

Nope LITTLE SPARROW . Not gggrreat, but good enough to put him on the plus column.

MY fave of the week was the other Cook , Kristy Lee :(The final four seconds of this clip are rich)

Does anyone find this is a better performance than Simon sez ?? I think given the condensed time frame allowed to perform it , Syesha gave Whitney a run for her money! .....(agree????) is she the dark horse? suddenly quite beautiful and velvety smooth .....

I think the little one Raymeale is about to go .

Dolly just sang her new song: JESUS KEEPS LIFTING ME .

But dang !! ......keep up the lifting and her chin will be centered on top of her head.

I agree about Syesha's performance this week and the previous week (loved her rendition of Yesterday) and agree as well about Simon not giving her enough credit. I find myself not agreeing so much with his opinions this year like in the past. Perhaps he's got his pot of gold called Leona Lewis right now so he's able to toss off these "peons" of talent.

I've been enamored by Dolly Parton's music since the early 80s. Her Heartbreak Express album sealed it for me that this was a woman who could write and sing with intense emotion (Barbara On Your Mind is a killer) so it was great to see her have the honour of handing out professional advice. Her songbook is vast so I was a bit disappointed with the song selections...would have liked to hear new versions of It's Too Late To Love Me Now or But You Know I Love You.

Having Ramiele voted off this week was appropriate. Her voice was okay but nothing remarkable and her performances seemed rather lacklustre...but I certainly wasn't looking forward to seeing her little world get crushed in that moment when she was let go.

My favourite of the week....mmmmmMichael Johns

Lesson from this week:

Do not let these kids arbitrarily pick their own material .....

No outstanding performance .....

Time to go Jason .

He can get a job singing children's songs at public libraries.....

Jason Castro could get a job as a street singer on Castro Street. He could sing "Over The Rainbow" and all the leather queens can run their hands through his dreads.

It's just been reported that our Prime Minister Gordon (One Eye) Brown appeared on American Idol - I hope he didn't sing!

Also David and Victoria Beckham were on too - thank goodness she didn't sing either!!

I'm glad to know you thought the same. With those long dreads and ukelele, I couldn't help but think 'Tiny Tim'....but all three judges loved it! Wha...?! Syesha gives it her all with I Believe and it was "just okay" to them but they didn't feel she "connected" with the song!?! I guess with the advancing years and likely some form of disinterest perhaps the judges are nearing their end.

And Kristy Lee Cook was good again this week. I think what's interesting about her and also Brooke White is that they're a throwback to the female pop artists of the 70s...the ones who were able to get a few radio hits because society wasn't so restrictive with their musical tastes. Artists like Olivia Newton-John, Melissa Manchester, Rita Coolidge and Carly Simon would never be able to get themselves on the airwaves these days.
