Default That singing fish lol

I noticed that the latest fad for the 21st century particularly in USA is the singing fish. They come in various species and formats such as on a plaque or standing up with a microphone. And when you walk past them the motion sensor triggers off the fish and the fish starts singing and you immediately turn around and think "WHAT THE HELL!!!"   Anyhow this singing fish craze is also happening in the land down under as well because I've seen them at the Granny May's store which is the one that stands up and holds the mic and you press a button and it sings. I don't know who invented the singing fish but they made a squillion out of them and they are good for a laugh  . Anyhow has this singing fish fad caught on in other countries besides USA and Australia, and how many different formats and species are there, and what are the main songs the fish would sing?

I've also downloaded a funny singing fish parody from Kill Frog and it's piss funny    because when the fish sings the fish cops some torture eg. when the fish sings "if I had a hammer, I would hammer in the morning, I would hammer in the evening" and then hammers get thrown at the fish and the fish says "oowwl that broke my nose, oh well at least the song isn't "we will we will rock you" and then you hear the (boom boom bash, boom boom bash) and the fish goes "oh crap... we will, we will rock you" and rocks get thrown at the fish and the fish goes "owwl owwl, ohhh I can't imagine a greater pain than that"     .

So how many of you's have bought a singing fish? I haven't bought one yet.

The singing fish thing has been around here for a couple of years now. Actually, I haven't seen one lately, so perhaps the fad is reaching its logical end... or I'm just blocking out the horror. To me, it's just the height of tackiness. I just can't believe people actually buy them. Worst of all is how quickly the novelty wears off. They will get on your nerves faster than Britney Spears after a few minutes. Every couple of years something like this comes along, usually right in time for the Christmas shopping season... I used to work in a department store, and was subjected to this sort of crap every year. One year it was the "dancing" flower/beer can; another year it was the coloured sand and bubbles between glass (I actually thought that was really cool, but the damn things would fall apart after a few months). And then one year they came out with that ridiculous "Jingle Cats" album... remember that, some guy did up a bunch of christmas carols on a sampler, using various feline meows and squeals as the main sounds. Seriously LAME. One song would've been bad enough (like the one from the 60s that does "Jingle Bells" with a dog's bark; I think that was all done with tape editing), but there were about 20 songs on the album... and then there was a sequel. And it wasn't cheap, either. People would pay $20 for this. I couldn't help but to think "Look, this is like hearing 20 jokes that have the same punchline over and over again. Even if you find that amusing, you're still not going to want to hear this after Christmas. Wake up!"

But people will do what they want with their money, I guess...

I remember a singing fish that sang "Don't Worry, Be Happy". This one (which also sang another song, which I forgot the name of) was called something like "Billy Bass" or something like that, and it was on a plaque. I thought that it was stupid. I haven't seen one of those for at least two years.
