| It looks like we're stuck with San-gaya another week. |

| I think the voting off of Stephanie last night will reduce a lot of viewers respect for the show. Although her talents weren't going to get her to the top spot, she certainly has great vocal talent and the looks to go with it....a major shame to see someone of this calibre being cast off while others with much less talent stay. Haley impresses me. I was surprised last week how well she sang Missing You...despite forgetting some of the words. This week, however, she came on pretty strong with Tell Him. Does anyone else think she sounds a lot like Olivia Newton-John? In regards to Melinda, I don't believe she will win merely because she does lack a bit of charisma but I am hoping that she will release a cd of songs similar to the ones that she's been performing. I loved it when Simon compared her to a young Gladys Knight....a major compliment! And Lulu looks incredible for 58! I think she slightly over-sung To Sir With Love but I love her husky voice. One of my favourites is her song Where The Poor Boys Dance that was out a few years back. |

| OK, now someone get an Eddie Murphy in drag photo for a comparison. Oh, and the crying little girl ["Little Miss Waterworks"] was a plant by the producers.[see my previous post for my initial suspicion] She & mom (from Riverside, CA) had tickets to see a taping of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" and somehow got into the AI rehearsal, where she wept uncontrollably. The producers noticed and asked her to come back for the taping--and placed her prominently in the front row and pointed the cameras on her. How spontaneous and unrehearsed.

| I agree with a few of you. Overall it was a better night for all of them. However even the lower few don't get a grade higher than a C+. Lakisha Jones... I loved the entire peformance all the way down to how she performed it. The dress should've layed all the way down to her shoes though. |

| Sorry to post this after the fact.... but we are seeing a delay over here in UK. Am loving the way Blake can make the old tune sound new but 'Keep Me Hanging On' had so much potential. Anyone know the Pado version (on Malligator 1978) out there? That cowbell on the chorus could have made it for him. I take it Blake 'aint heard it: maybe he should! If he had performed 'a la Pado' from his cover, he would have been sat in front of the audience in his white suit jacket and socks minus his pants.... surely getting Paula hot along with middle America. Any other Pado fans out there agree? |

| Is Sanjaya on this show strictly for our amusement? He's like Jerry Springer was to DWTS--comic relief. |

| ***** Before last week is forgotten forever ....I just wanted to comment that it was " inspiration night" ... or something like that and the "kids" were supposed to pick music by an artist they were inspired by . A couple picked Sting , a couple more Gwen Steppenlopoplus or whatever her name is ( is there a more purposeless performer on today's music scene ?!! Leave it to the two that can really sing .....Melinda and Lakisha to do songs by Donna Summer. be inspired by her voice and want to emulate her . Melinda sang one of my least favourite Donna Summer songs ... HEAVEN kNOWS and LaKisha sang one of my favourites .... LAST DANCE. Lakisha I thought did all right ... just fine . Melinda however, really added depth to those lyrics and delivered them in a way that left me cheering a song I'd always only been luke warm about . The winner that round : Melinda *****

| I think Tony Bennett did a good job coaching the singers, LaKisha Jones I believe had the best vocals of the night over Melinda Doolittle... hmmmm could go either way though. |
