I am sickened by the fact that whiteboy rapper/homophobe/ asshole The Emster's new movie "8 Mile" is getting very good reviews. So good, in fact, that there is actually Oscar buzz. Now, I really doubt, at this point, that old Hollywood (most of the Oscar voters) are gonna embrace this punk and honor him persoanally with a nomination. (hey, they won't even give one to Jim Carrey YET!!!!)...but ya never know. There certainly will be a campaign--Access Hollywood has been running an interminable interview with the snot all week long.

If I see his ass sitting in the Kodak Theater on Oscar night as a nominee, I may have to pull an Elvis: take some downers, fry me up some fried banana & peanut butter sandwiches and get my handgun out and shoot the TV screen when his face appears. :lol: Just warning ya--I might go ballistic if this cretin becomes a movie -star!!!!! :evil:

The Pet Shop Boys imply on their last LP that Eminem is a closet queen. They have a point- J.Edgar Hoover was & alot of evidence suggests Hitler was. I think shrinks say its a form of self-loathing that makes you loathe those of a similar nature. Sorry, I'm getting a bit heavy there now.

Whether you like him or not, he is indisputably a huge star and probably the voice of this generation.
Let him go into films and make an ass of himself like almost every pop star before him. Why shouldn't he win an Oscar; lack of acting talent hasn't stopped dozens of undeserving actors and actresses winning them in previous years.
Don't you realise what a complete and utter farce the whole Oscars charade is? Even my cats are less shallow, when they want feeding. :lol:

Well, after quickly perusing the reviews at rottentomatoes.com... I guess the main comparison is to Prince in "Purple Rain". Well, HE didn't have a career in films...so I'm feeling a bit better. The chip on Miss Mather's shoulder apparently is quite convincing....but can she play anything other than herself???? Apparently the script is lame... but Curtis Hansen, the director of "L.A. Confidential", gives the movie grit and authenticity.

The most-used phrase in the film: "Yo, dog". Geez, I can't wait. :roll:

Yeah, there's a real musical genius at work. The music critics think that Eminem is the greatest thing to ever happen in music, and now the movie critics probably think that he is the greatest thing to ever happen in movies. You couldn't pay me to see that movie of his, and you probably know what I think of his music. :evil:

One guy on the radio says it's "crash & burn" time: #1 movie & #1 CD...overexposure = buh-bye. Will going Hollywood cause him to lose that "street cred" outlaw image that has endeared him to the kidz thus far? Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
