Default Merry Christmas Maradona fans

Fans of Argentina legend Diego Maradona have taken their obsession to a whole new level by setting up a church in his honour. About 100 members of the new church have been holding a special ceremony to mark their own Christmas - Maradona's birthday on 30 October - since 1999. "We believe he is football's god. So, for us, this is 42AD, " said one of the group who call themselves the Diegorian Brothers, explaining that AD stands for After Diego. Having taken Maradona's autobiography 'I Am Diego' to be their bible, the Christmas celebrations included the recital of their own Maradona-inspired version of the Ten Commandments (sample commandment: "Thou shalt be only a fan of Maradona not any football club in particular") and unveiled a Maradona Christmas tree bearing images of the footballer.

It's first news for me, but I'm not surprised really... You should see what they do with late tango & cumbia singers around here!

BTW football guys, keep an eye on Riquelme, he's our new star but -sadly- Barcelona coach Van Gaal doesn't think so. The guy insists in leaving him as replacement for the last 20 minutes of the game, and keeping him further back in the field, like he was a stopper! :o
Riquelme is more of a "builder", that is a player with great imagination who keeps the game at his own pace and runs with the ball without looking at it. A great player and strategist. The whole country was asking for years to include him in our national team... But as you may know, Marcelo Bielsa is still our coach!!!! :o :o :o Even as we lost miserably in the World Cup first round!
Basically, these guys think in "European football" terms and believe players like Riquelme are "slow" and "too imaginative" for them. But believe me, this kid is an ace within a good framework.

Only gossips...

I really like Don Diego Armando Maradona (42) and Claudio Paul Cannigia (34), the blond devil. I heard Maradona has at present an interview program on Argentina television. Football has some relations with the music, David Beckham (27) get married with the spice girl Victoria Adams (28) :P and just Maradona recorded a CD :o , in Cuba, to help some hospital for sick children in Argentina. Talking about sickness, Marie Fredriksson (44) from Roxette (probably many people here hate Roxette a lot  ) has a little brain tumor but it has treatment.

Hey, I like El Payaso Aimar too... (in fact I'm a River Plate football fan) But you can also put an eye in Riquelme, believe me it's worthwhile (check out when Barcelona plays against Real Madrid).
We River Plate fans are noteworthy for recognizing the good talents of other team's players, even Boca Jrs. (there's a River flag for Maradona).
The last "scandal" around here goes like this: Bielsa called both Riquelme (for the first time!) and Saviola for our first match after the infamous World Cup (it will be against Japan). As you know both play now in the Barsa. So, Barsa coach Van Gaal phoned himself to the Argentina Football Association, looking for Bielsa to put a claim over "his" players. Bielsa didn't pick up the receiver! He's given to secrecy so it's no surprise for us, but Van Gaal must have been surprised! :)

Sutnop, as you know Benie decided to delete some topics, "Secret Societies" between them. I don't know if you did the "story on my country" you promised, or if there was some other comments on its last days. If so, can you send me a private message?
