Hey Guy,

I don't know what your normal Sunday morning routine is but next week, 10/27, you might want to tune in to CBS SUNDAY MORNING, Channel 2, 9AM - 10:30AM, EST. The reason: Ms. SALMA HAYEK, of course.

From the preview clip I saw she's going to be discussing Frida, her art, and how she made things so 'Sensual, and joooceee and deeeleeeshous'. (I don't know Ms. Hayek, is that accent for real? She sounded so cute.)

On the other hand, I think you and lots of others will be thinking she's looking pretty juicy and delicious in that dress she's wearing. Fair warning: Tape it if your not a 'Morning Man'.

Right on Nicky! That is good looking out, thanks
Normally I get up "whenever" on Sundays. I'll be sure to catch her though. I don't know and I don't care if the accent is real. She gets me sprung
By the way, I'm a night man and I know she'd make a joooceee and deeeleeeshous nightcap.

Hi boys! Regarding Salma Hayek, I saw a special on her on Bravo last night. Ashley Judd said, "After kissing Salma, I am a confirmed heterosexual. If kissing Salma Hayek doesn't do something for you, nothing will!"

I never heard of her until last night and I was only watching because of Ashley, but DAMN, that Salma - she's HOT! My my my!

Now Lean,
I have enough trouble trying to fend off Boodi, now you
By the way, I like Ashley too. Like Nicky, I'd like to know what movie this was with Ashley and Salma kissing.

Down boys!!!!

I think the "KISS" must happen in the upcoming "Frida" movie, cause Ashley has a supporting role.

You are correct, Marky! The kiss will be in the movie. They do a sexy slow dance as well. I can't wait to see it!

Did you ever see Salma in "From Dusk Till Dawn" where she does the snake dance?

No. Sadly, whenI went to Blockbuster Video to rent it, all copies were out...hmmm.
Oh, by the way. Is it true Blockbuster specially edits there copies of some movies?

I don't know if Blockbuster edits them per se, but often the distributor will -- simply because Blockbuster will not stock anything that goes against their "family values". As the nation's biggest video rental chain, Blockbuster has the awesome responsibility of shielding Americans (and Canadians) from material that they might discover to be objectionable. Since Blockbuster accounts for a massive chunk of the US rental market, any film that they decline is effectively shut out of the market. So, films that would get an "R" rating are edited to accommodate Blockbuster's high moral standards.

Apparently, there's no limit to the amount of graphic violence you can show, but excessive profanity and anything resembling explicit sex are beyond the pale of what Blockbuster will permit their customers to see.

Of course, if you find this blatant form of censorship objectionable, you can always go to a competing store... oh wait, in many parts, there aren't any, because Blockbuster has successfully squeezed them out of the market.

BTW, isn't this the sort of situation that lassez-faire capitalism was supposed to prevent?

Thanks for being such a wealth of info lately Graham. I've heard Phil Hendrie (LA Talk show guy) be highly critical of Blockbuster for this but I still wouldn't believe they did this. Thanks to both of you I will be going to Hollywood Video now.
Land and the free and the good works of free market capitalism has too much idealistic rhetoric than I prefer. I know those on the other side will argue it's better than the Taliban and they would be right. I would hope however we strive for loftier goals than comparisons to despot regimes. Oh, by the way Graham, I sense we are of the same mind on many issues.

You're right on top of it, Graham. A Blockbuster opened 3 miles from my home about 18 months ago. Within that time, 3 of the 4 "Mom & Pop" operations we had around here closed down. The only other 'chain' store I can deal with is 10 miles away in a mall.

I asked Blockbuster did they edit their videos. The response was "no". Thanks to you I see they weren't lying, just not being totally truthful. Why have the actors, directors, studios and others allowed them to get away with this practice? They bitch about everybody else 'destroying' their art?

OMG, Paul. The 'Today' show had a clip of "Frida" this morning because Salma is going to be on tomorrow (7AM - 10AM). Man, they gave her that eyebrow but I guess it's not as severe as it could be.

VERY, VERY SCARY!!
