I was really surprised that Kevin got kicked off this week as I thought this was one of his better weeks.

I am getting tired of Chris. Every song he does sounds the same and that version of "I Walk The Line" was unrecognizable. He's like Bo Bice with no hair.

Here's a rundown of the rest:

Lisa and Ace--they need to go too.

Bucky--not a great singer but at least he picks songs the audience can relate to.

Mandisa--I like her, but didn't think this was her best week.

Paris--She seems able to handle anything. I read that Paris' grandmother is Ann Nesby who sang with Sounds of Blackness. Had a big house record called "The Pressure". I need release....

Katherine--Good voice. Not her best week.

Elliott--Good voice, but pick better songs or better arrangements or something.

Taylor--He's a showoff. He can perform, but starting to wear on my nerves.

Kelli--Good week for her. I think she should do "Barbie Girl" on dance week. She does well with country songs, but no so good with anything else.

We should all make a pact to not discuss AI until the weekend to give Headlamp a chance to get caught up... ....but it will too difficult to shut up til then.

So now the cat's out of the bag, I was actually shocked....but very pleased for a couple reasons. Firstly, even though he did a good job of When I Fall In Love (which should make him a shoo-in for the school musicals), he needed to eventually be voted off so better now than later.

But the other reason is it foiled the efforts of the morons behind votefortheworst.com. I took a look at their website and got quite down about the whole thing. Why does there have to be so much hatred in the world? :(

Guys (and girls) - that's good of you to suggest but please don't stop posting, I really enjoy reading the posts and then forming my own views. No-one really talks much about Simon C. and I enjoy watching him and seeing how often he refers to his own Pop Idol show in the UK - The X Factor!!

I'm feelin' sorry for Kevin. Does that make me a "Grandma"???  :P

As far as I'm conerned--It was Bucky's turn--but he got saved by the trailer trash folks who's phones haven't been disconnected, apparently. :P :P :P

I don't get Taylor--looks to me like actor Alfred Molina (the mix tape makin'/ drug buyin' Arab guy in "Boogie Nights"--remember his Chinese boyfriend throwin' the firecrackers around?) He's been at his best doin' Michael McDonald/ Doobie Bros. songs--but he's really a Ramada Inn lounge act, methinks.

I wish they'd have a Sylvester week and then we'd see how good Mr. Chris would do.

I've just watched Idol ! ! Agreed with Simon with most of them....I thought Mandisa, Catherine and Elliot were the best performances. I thought Lisa's performance was the worst. Didn't like Bucky either

Two other observations - when Ace did his performance he had his arms out in a crucifix type position. When they did the recap, for America to vote, they were on the mike stand, singing his falsetto faultlessly. Cynical me thinks manipulation!!

The other thing - do you have Prozac in America? I'm sure Paula Abdul has a weekly supply from her pharmacist!! What's wrong with her?

I think the recaps/snippets at the end of the show are from the dress rehersals & not the actual boradcast show. I've noticed that there are differences sometimes too.

I'm new here, but can I chime in and proclaim my unreasonable and overpowering dislike of Kellie Pickler? The "stoopid" act is wearing real thin....

I like Mandisa an awful lot, I don't think she has a chance of winning though. It's pretty clear they're pimping Chris to come in first...

I disagree with you... because she has a huge fan base... Top 4 to be exact... she's only had one performance that I thought was just below the solid mark.

Chris on the other hand is the favorite... but he doesn't have the balls to do something that is not rockish.

I'm making the assumption that Mandisa doesn't have a chance only because I don't trust that the competition is legit, or that it's so manipulated, that the one they want to win...will.

If you notice, Chris gets the big light show - the over the top praise, the claims that he's got a great radio voice, etc. I don't have anything agianst him, but I am tired of the alterno-versions of everything.

I would love to see Mandisa at least come in second, if not take the whole thing. Supposedly Vegas has odds on her coming in second.

Chris gets the light show so he can hide behind the fact that he can't sing anything else unless it has guitars in it... and so on. He's losing ground and people are complaining that he isn't competing properly like everyone else... some have already jumped off his bandwagon. It's his fault.

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't know whether her Coke glass is filled with alcohol or not but it seems by the middle of the show, she's just a little too carefree and light-headed. I believe she's a sad woman...and not making the best choices while in the limelight. She recently did an interview with Dr. Phil on primetime tv talking about her problems finding Mr. Right. It was a bit pathetic as she cried her lonely tears for the world to see....not exactly a good move to blatantly show your vulnerability.

Despite all the boos and hisses towards Simon, I usually agree with most of his opinions. He speaks the truth in most cases and you have to admire his strength at doing that (although I'm certain he must get a lot of hate-mail).

I still think Chris is the one to beat. The alterno-rock formula that he loves is revered and cherished by teens, twenty-somethings and those in the music biz. It all comes back to the mindset that most of us on here get so pissed off about.... that rock music is more credible and artful than disco, pop and dance music.

Here's an article I found on Chris.

"American Idol" chat rooms were buzzing Friday over a controversy surrounding Chris Daughtry's version of "I Walk the Line."

Judges praised Daughtry for making the song his own when he performed the Johnny Cash tune on the Fox network show.

But some fans say the version wasn't Daughtry's, but ripped off from one done by the band Live in 2001.

One fan posted a message saying, "I just want to punch him in his bald head." Another reads: "This guy is a rip-off. Judges are plain dumb." And a third message says, "Live singer Ed Kowalczyk called and said that he would like his vocal style" back.
