Well, American Idol has just finished broadcasting here in the UK. Shame about Gedeon - I really liked his vocals. The other lad - he'll make a good CPA! Right choice on the girl front too! I thought Simon's comments this week were spot on. For a North London boy he has really tapped into the American phsyche! The expression on Randy's face when he called that girl a sexy little minx...I knew exactly what he meant!!

were gonna lose a couple of the good male singers because I betcha she's gonna make it to the final 6.

Ace, Taylor or Elliott will be voted off before her... this will be a sad week.

Hey, I'm a Kelly "Calamari" Pickler fan--she's lovely & talented and possesses the adorable dumbness of early Goldie Hawn on "Laugh-In"....plus her parents abandoned her to be raised by wolves...no, uh... her Grampa (just like "Heidi"!!!)---it's a total package-----America will eat it up---I predict at least Top 5, maybe top 3-- for her.

Simon has already said he likes her better than last year's winner--Carrie Underwood!!!!!!! Wonder what Carrie thought of that snub????

Mandisa (is that her name?) is the best of the girls--but I do not think she is gonna be allowed to win. Heft factor. The Vin Diesel lookin' ROCKER guy is good--but I don't really care for Fuel tunes; I haven't recognized anything he's ever sung!!! But he seems to have the lead in the male contingent.

 ....like I said....perfect disco diva! "Get on your feet and dance to the beat and dance...."

I was thinking Goldie Hawn as well when I saw Kelly Pickler last week. The neat thing about some of these competitors is that they've got a bit of a unique quality to them which I've never noticed in previous years. Don't you think that showbiz could use another Goldie Hawn again?!

Chris the rocker is good stuff....not my taste in music....but definitely the winner.

Edwin Starr - Contact? :D

Ace Young can sing...

Leo Sayer - You Make Me Feel Like Dancing

Last night's performances of Stevie Wonder tunes were quite interesting and a real eye-opener to the genuine talent and passion in this year's competition. It was just amazing how incredibly shaken some of them were to be in Stevie's presence. Those were real tears of joy from them and I found that just magnificently heartwarming. (I know that I'd be a mess in the presence of someone like Patti Labelle or Barbra Streisand.)

I was really impressed by Paris Bennett's performance...she reminds me of Deniece Williams in a way. Also, Katharine McPhee showed talent and confidence singing Until You Come Back To Me...very nice!

Mandisa sure has the pipes though. I can see some trendy DJ approaching her to add vocals to his latest dance 'track' (of course, just a few words is all he'll need these days...he can do a non-ending looping and reversing of the notes back and forth  )

Taylor showed what a showman he is....a bit disappointed with Elliott's performance....Chris is a natural talent. I'm hoping they don't do another week of them having to cover a hit from an artist's repertoire. I think it's a bit too limiting....although, it would have been nice to have heard someone sing Yester-Me, Yester-You Yesterday.

Stevie Wonder night 8) 8)
Like Stevie said .... One of the good things about a program like this .... it brings people together for a right reason ... their appreciation of music .....

Last night does suggest the advantage of being older in this competition... aren't some in their late twenties ? .... as far as having more musical savvy.... more familar with a bigger array of artists Young Kelly was moved to tears meeting Stevie too ... then in her interview she said she'd never heard any of his music :o
When they feature a specific artist or sound.... it narrows it down so they aren't all over the place .... and forces them to go beyond their comfort zones ... or figure out how to bring it into it ....
ACE ---- DO I DO .....much better than the judges gave him credit for
KELLY --- BLAME IT ON THE SUN .... should've spent less time shopping for shoes and picking then learning the right song ....
ELLIOT ---- KNOCK ME OFF MY FEET ...very disappointing. Elliot..
the masses are voting for you ... pick songs they'll already know
Mandissa ---- DON'T YOU WORRY ABOUT A THING .... :o damn. she looked twice as big this week ....that ain't gonna fly now
BUCKY ---- SUPERSTITION .... I thought his husky vocals gave that song a refreshing sound....liked it a lot
Mellissa ---GOODBYE (title?)..... I hope she keeps going .... I thought her performance , even though she messed up some , was her best yet. (Great song too )
LISA ----SIGNED, SEALED , DELIVERED .......passable ..... but not one for highlights
KEVIN ---PART TIME LOVER ..... Those Pee-Wee Herman dance moves ! Actually he stays on mark well...lots of words crammed into that melody.... BUT .....someone has to go ....and I think he's had his time....
KATHERANE ---- UNTIL YOU COME BACK TO ME ..... Bedroom sexy that one ... tastefully delivered .. Seermed as though she was actuallly thinking about the words she was singing ....
TAYLOR --- LIVING FOR THE CITY ..... there's just something clumsy & awkward about him .... tries too hard ??? That said ... just listening to him ... his voice is very full and rich .... .
PARIS ---- hot !!! ( I didn't note what she sang ???) Can she really be only 16?? The night's best .....even if I can't remember what the hell it was !!
Chris ---- Higher Ground ...... close second to Paris ...he got lucky ..the judges were impressed by his "rock interpretation " ...not realizing he was mimicking a version already done by a rock band..... very well done though . Does he look like John McCain??

How many go home ? Two ? Male and a female ?
KEVIN , LISA

remicks,

Melissa sang LATELY
Paris sang ALL I DO IS THINK ABOUT YOU

Missed the first hour--had to finish the porno I'd rented   :P ; saw most of the rest---the judges kept saying that the second hour was where the good stuff was--but what about Mandisa??? Wasn't she good???? :-?

who the hell is voting for Kevin or Kellie? c'mon people!

both of their performances were so amaturish... I'm getting tired of listening to Kellie's southern charm... it was cool to watch Simon bash her on national TV.

Although it was OK to have Melissa go first... Ace & Lisa in the bottom 3 already?

Kevin and or Kellie are going to be spoilers for a couple more weeks unless they are getting way too many simpathy votes from people who just want to ruin the show.

Top 4 are pretty solid and have been good since week 1

Taylor
Chris
Katharine
Mandisa

in imediate trouble, these 3 need to step it up imediately just avoid more embarrasing moments like last night.

Ace
Elliott
Lisa
