Now that you guys mention "Cruising", I wonder if "the boys" here remember that 1982 movie "Partners" with Ryan O'Neal and John Hurt. I saw it on TV several times and always laughed my ass off. Also thought Hurt's (one of my favorite actors) portrayal was kinda realistic, but of course I'm a chauvinist pig so my opinion doesn't count... So I ask you guys, do you think that one was "sexually" or "politically correct" or something like that? |

| Nano, meu bem, you might be surprised.....many of the women's clubs in NYC are pretty damn boring. We ususally have more fun at mixed clubs like SOB's (Sound Of Brasil) when they have Samba nights on the weekends.

| Regarding the sleaze fave CRUISING, we're still holding our breath for the director's cut DVD - could that include the mythical scene with the stomach effect? A shot was rumoured to have been edited out from the fist fuck sequence after studio board's appalled reactions. The missing morsel is supposedly a close-up of the fuckee's naked belly which is seen stretching and bulging upwards. Sounds entertaining for sure but could something like this be anatomically correct to begin with? |

But, gee, I wonder if there's anyone among us who might know the answer to your question...?

| Let me see if I can answer a some questions. NRGBeat: Yes, I know someone who did that. The first manager of the Anvil who auditioned me on a dare but didn't hire me permanently. At the time he gave me my audition he was "a leather stud" --- chains and all. The weekend after I was hired full time (a year later, or so), he quit, started carrying a bible and, later, married. Who knew?" Nano: I laughed like hell at "Partners". John Hurt was convincing and I'm sure he scared the hell out of Ryan O'Neal. Oh, yeah --- "Cruising": Saw it once... couldn't care less. Picture caused more aggravation in The Village than it was worth. Jussi: Saw this once on a porn flick The Anvil was running in their, at the time, downstaris backroom. You could see the handprint on the abdomen. Disgusting. Never, ever want to see anything like that again.

| Guys, I always wondered myself about that fist-jelling scene... Always thought it was something of an exaggeration. Phew! Never heard this one! (Yeech!) I checked a book called "The Cutting Room Floor" about Cruising's cutouts and it does not mention this one specifically, but it says most extras were recruited on the scene and that William Friedkin took great care in making the club scenes as realistic as he could. So, there was a lot of discarded shots of people making out, someone being fucked in the background... also mentioned a panning in which there's a black column somewhere. The film's editor says that was blacked out electronically, and that in the original shot there were a row of guys seated while others on their knees were giving them blowjobs. The shot was "cleaned" at MPAA's request. Hey, these 70's filmmakers really wanted to pull all stops, huh? |
