Hey guys, I just read in a local paper that Madonna's role in the next Bond film would be the first LESBIAN Bond chick! Of course, Mrs. Snatch couldn't be just ANOTHER bimbo!
I think it was quoted from the Hollywood Reporter. What do you think about this? C'mon, Boodi, Mark! Comments, comments! I'm starving...

I know she's singing the theme song; if she's appearing in the movie, I would guess it's just a cameo. I'll check the HR for more details.

If the Material Broad is singing the theme, I'm sure it'd do well as a single, which would be quite a shock considering there hasn't been a hit Bond film theme since Duran Duran's "A View To A Kill" in 1985.

You're dead-on, Robbie. Bond is relying too much on fortyish artists for the soundtracks!
From what I read, Madonna is to play an "esgrima" professor for Bond (probably in those small scenes at the beginning of every JB flick). Also she had her "esgrima" suit designed by Versace, if I remember well.

But Nano, don't forget--Madonna IS a fortyish artist!!!!!

Granted, one of the only ones who still has Top 10 Pop singles, BUT that's gonna change sometime in the future too. She can't stay relevant forever.

Gawd, I look at the TOP 10 and I don't know ANY of the songs. Nelly, Eminem, Chad Kroeger, Avril Lavigne,P. Diddy & Ginuwine, Cam 'ron, Jimmy Eat World, Ashanti, J-Lo with Nas, and Vanessa Carlton. I have heard the last one. I feel like a Lawrence Welk relic.

You are not alone Marky. I don't have a clue what these guys sing. Is it time for AARP?

I'm glad someone else caught this! Madonna is... what 43? 44?!

I know the feeling, Marky. Several years ago I began to notice that I knew only seven or eight of the Top 10 records; today that number is usually one or NONE! I'm OK with that though; I mean, who cares what P. Dopey is sampling now?!

I was channel surfing this morning and happened to catch Enema's new (?) video, and I stopped only because he samples the Batman TV show theme (!!!) and is dressed like Robin (this is also the video in which he dresses like Osama bin Laden; can you say "screaming for attention"?). I now know how my parents used to feel: "What the hell is he saying?!"

They've been discussing this over at alt.gossip for a while. It appears that Madonna Louise Cojones Bitchie forgets that she isn't the first lesbian "Bond Girl", that would have been Pussy Galore in GOLDFINGER. The first lesbian character would have been Lotte Lenya's character in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. Of course on Madonna's planet, it's her view that's the correct one.
I wonder how much Guy Ritchie had to PAY the studio to get Madonna to warble on the soundtrack?
Cubby Broccoli is doing flipflops in his grave.......

Some thoughts on what's been said:
-Yes, Madonna is 44. The same for Jackson and Prince: the top 3 pop stars of the Eighties are the same age.
-Marky, wanna know when we'll know we're old? That's when we don't get the music jokes on the last Eminem single! Mmmm... I'm starting to feel that already!
-Boodi, don't fret and give the Material Grandma a chance. Maybe we'll have a scene between she and Halle "Now I Show Them" Berry (remember, she's in the movie too!) Surely they could do something of a hommage to that great scene in "The hunger", between la Deneuve and Susan Sarandon...

I would BET that Mrs. Ritchie will NOT be sharing any screen time with Halle Berry in the Bond flick. She's not up for THAT comparison on a widescreen. Just my opinion.

Ahhh...
OK, just let me say it:

HALLE BERRY IS A BABE!!!!!!

I remember her from years & years ago. "Last boy scout"... The Flintstones movie (dogshit, but what a BODY)... "Bulworth" (LOL)... Ahhh... she's SOOOO beautiful I even forgive her for her ridiculous speech at the Awards ceremony!
Do you think Bond will cross the PG-13 line with this vestal?

I don't wanna name-drop too much here (YEAH, SURE!!!), BUT I can honestly say that Halle Berry has kissed me. She was a client until after she did "Queen"-- a miniseries in the mid-late '90's.

She was lovely.

My only spotting of Madonna was when she was married to Sean Penn and I saw them both having their tickets torn to a movie at the Beverly Center, as I was coming out.

The interesting thing was Sean was supposed to be surrendering himself for a jail sentence for punching some photographer and he had disappeared for about a week. Well, there he was at the Bev Center with the missus. What I remember is how small/short they both seemed in person for such LARGER THAN LIFE PERSONALITIES. He did his jail time a little later in the week.

Nice to hear that Halle Berry is as sweet as she appears to be, Marky. And who knows? Maybe you'll rep her again on her way back down.

She is lovely, even if she wasn't the best choice to play Storm in the X-Men movie. (My choice would have been Angela Bassett, but I'm sure she was considered too old.)

And speaking of X-Men, if it had been Hugh Jackman who kissed you, Marky, then I would REALLY be jealous!

Oh, and I read that Madonna will be playing a fencing instructor in the new Bond film.

(Which sounds as if it should keep her body well covered, in case she--or anyone--is worried about the shape she's in. Of course, this IS a Bond flick...!)
