Default Skyy - This Groove Is Bad

Hi all. In recent months I've listened to Skyy's "This Groove Is Bad" and I thought it was BLOODY AWSOME :D :D !!!!! Perfect combination of hard funk, with hard rock guitar and uptempo disco beat, it makes a perfect song to turn up loud in my car while driving fast, this song has so much power :D !!!!! I rate it up the top as one of the funkiest songs of all time.

Thought I'd give this song special mention here as I would like to hear some opinions on this song.

Hmmm..Don't think I know this one. When did it come out?
Alltogether Skyy was a great band, my favs being "let love shine" and "givin' it to you" (yup...obvious choices i know - but good songs they are (he said with a yoda like voice  )).

Hmmmm... I reckon its bloody awfull compared to their really good dreamy groovy stuff , when i first heard it back in the early 80's , it didn't make sense ,, i put it in the ordinary category ..... sorry ...just my humble opinion on this track ..

This was huge in my club.It was the B side of the 12" single "First Time Around" and if you had your crowd screaming for more you just had to drop this one on them to take them to the next level

As far as hard funk goes, this track rocks. As a matter of fact the entire Side 1 from their debut LP is comprised of and includes 'This Groove is bad', 'First time around' and my personal favorite 'Let's turn it out'. Personally, I thought this was a pretty impressive debut LP. Many people fail to acknowledge 'Skyy' as a funk band due to their '80's dance catalogue which includes 'Here's to you', 'Call me' and 'Start of a romance', but do not underappreciate the roots of this band's existence. 8)

Easy,

Sam "ALL JAM"

Randy Muller the brainchild of Skyy was formerly of Brass Construction hence one can appreciate their sound and roots.

I remember this song! I think it was their first. I bought that LP because my sister and I walked into a record store to buy the Sylvers' Disco Fever and there they were signing copies. So we bought it with their autographs all over it. I still have it.

That was a great LP to dance to also.
