| I'm listening to The Softones "Very Best Of" CD... after "That Old Black Magic"(the SHORT VERSION!!!)... There's a song called ""Laundromat"!!!!! "You can make love to me in a laundromat While everyone one else is out doin' the town You can make love to me in a laundromat With nobody but the dryers goin' round" DUH!!!!!!        Sadly it sounds vaguely reminiscent of Blue Magic's "Three Ring Circus"--BUT THOSE LYRICS!!!!! From the HACK HIT FACTORY of Hugo & Luigi---the folks what killed The Stylistics' career with sub-par material after they split from the wonderful Thom Bell.

| It may not be the worst, but it's close. Dionne Warwick singing Sly Stone's "Everyday People" on her newly reissued Soulful CD with 13 bonus tracks on Rhino. I'm sorry, but Dionne and the girls singing, "Boom shaka-laka-laka, boom shaka-laka-laka" is just sad... laughable... obscene. Choose one. They all fit. This is the second time I've heard her doing something way out of place. Check out her beautiful Make Way for Dionne Warwick album on Scepter from BITD. This lp is full of Bacharach/David classics: A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME, PEOPLE, THEY LONG TO BE CLOSE TO YOU, REACH OUT FOR ME, YOU'LL NEVER GET TO HEAVEN, WALK ON BY... it goes on and on. And just when you're more than in the mood comes the 5th cut on side b: "Get Rid of Him". What you want to do is get rid of her because if you had an erection you lost it. A horrible piece of 60's pop/dance that should never have come near a piece of vinyl. |

THE SOFTONES, cool. I thought nobody remember this guys anymore. They sound like a poor man's STYLISTICS. And you're right about HUGO & LUIGI destroying THE STYLISTICS, MARKY. After breaking up with THOM BELL, THE STYLISTICS began to sound like... THE SOFTONES! zeca azevedo |

| Ursula Dudziak was married to Michael Urbaniek, well known jazz violin player from East Europe. (Slovakia, I think!) They made records in their own country before both releasing albums for Arista in the mid 70s. I forget the name of the artist, but there was a big hit in mainland Europe in 1984 (I heard it in a Spanish Disco) called "Dolce Vita". This was a dodgy tune, very corny. (naturally I bought it, to remind me of my wonderful summer holiday, never played it since) LOL    |

| Dolche Vita was by Ryan Paris and I guess it's a song you either love or hate. I do have some fond memories about it though, since it was a monster hit over here. |
