Default THE BEST OF MOTORCITY.....

I picked up a couple volumes of this series. I'm listening to Volume 15 now....

1. Just Another Fool in Love performed by Edwin Starr
2. Keep This Thought in Mind performed by Johnny Bristol
3. Just a Little Misunderstanding performed by Mary Johnson
4. Losing You Tonight performed by Billy Griffin
5. Talk to the World performed by Bobby Taylor
6. Ask the Lonely performed by Billy Eckstine
7. You Keep Me Hangin' On performed by Rose Banks
8. Keep on Giving Me Love performed by Ronnie McNeir
9. Running Out of Luck performed by Velvelettes
10. Turn This Heart Around performed by Love Tones
11. Cross That Bridge performed by Frankie Gaye
12. No Competition performed by Valadiers
13. Running a Fever performed by Hattie Littles
14. L.O.V.E. Lovestruck performed by Sandra Edwards
15. Not This Time performed by Linda Griner
16. My Heart Won't Say No performed by Louvain Demps

Any gems in there or just "typically subpar material from old Motown performers" as allmusic reviews it???

Footsteps Following Me by Frances Nero was a huge pop hit in the UK in 1990 & was played at many 'raves' at the time as a sort-of 'chill out' track!

Hey Marky :D

how you're doin'? These songs are the ones produced by IAN LEVINE in ENGLAND in the late 80's or original MOTOWN material?

It must be newer recordings. As far as i recall, Ian Levine started the whole Motercity thing in order to bring all the old Motown artists back in the recording studio, persuading them to do some new material.
but then....I might be wrong.

Hi Zeca !!!!!!!

K-Bee -- you're right-- these are from the Ian Levine school-
Late 80's-early 90's (I guess) productions using old Motown artists. Nothing really caught my ear.

Instead, listen to "A Cellarful of Motown" for the real gems!!!! :D
