If you are looking for some new disco funk totally right for a breakin vibe you should check out "1L - Das Nonstop Programm" at http://www.Res-Freq.com

There are a few samples on the site but the CD definitely has that style even more than those samples.

Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for.

DJ Blazin': Any chance of listing a few more?
By what you've already written, obvious contenders would be stuff like T Connection (Saturday Night), Boiling Point (Let's Get Funktified), Players Association (Turn The Music Up, We Got The Groove etc), Gene Chandler (Get Down), Stargard (Which way Is Up), Gino Soccio (Try It Out) to name a few.
Do you already have these and if not are you able to listen to any to see if they are in the 'ball park'?

I've been spinning Mike Conteh Band's 1977 realese JUMP THE GUN to hip crowds a lot. The riff grabs you instantly. There's male voices shouting the title, dirty sax and a c. 120 bpm beat that percolates and churns madly. I don't think this track ever made it to the US Billboard charts when new, nor do I have any idea if it ever came out in America. Nevertheless, this track is a killer, get it. A bit easier to find is SULTANA by Titanic - chanting, afro-style beat and cool organ solos. Perfect for both club and lounge play. WOMAN and WILD SAFARI by Barrabas are in the same vein as is ANIKANA-O by Kongas, a 10 minute monster with furious breaks. Can't go wrong with those.

Try: Indris Muhammad "Look Up," Lonny Smith "Funk Reaction," Ohio Players "Fapp" (or "Fopp"). Just to name a few.

Muscle Shoals Horns "Born To Get Down"

A good breaker track IMO. It has a very nice Thermin intro and break down!
