are there any others outthere like me who love the sounds coming from records,yep that's right good old-45's-lp's i know that it's a digital world with all the new sounds[mp3's-cd's]and the like but being an oldtimer from the sixties i'll keep my records and cassettes,any more dinasours outthere?

Call it whathever you want, listening to vinyl record has something magic.

It's the same pleasure of driving a vintage card.

You can feel the experience.

But I have to admit that the digital format is handy. It's the only way to easily carry my passion everywhere I go.

Yes, I have 7" reel to reel tapes, cassettes, Beta, VHS and even a few 8 tracks.

Dinosaur?

It depends on the music, whether the CD was a good transfer or if they used really bad source material, if the original vinyl was pressed well, etc... If I can get CD quality with good dynamic audio quality, I prefer that over the vinyl. I might double dip and get a vinyl version of something I think might have thicker sounding bass, like the 12" pressing of a disco track.

My beefs with vinyl is the crackling, the dirt that can accumulate on the needle while you're recording (even if you cleaned it many times) and therefore muffle the sound, and my biggest beef, poorly centred pressings, so that instruments sound warbly, which is made even worse when the instruments, like strings, hold the notes for many bars.
