LOOKIN' FOR THE PERFECT BEAT
(instrumental) remains my personal choice from theirs. Has a warmer tone to it and more playful.

Well, one out of the two of us ... as usual or not ... is ignorant on this one: that's for sure.
When people blabber on records .... such as is found here .... I call it rap.

I dunno who Tony is...Anyway, there was/is Rap, Hip Hop, and at the time when Planet Rock came out there was a genre know as Electro. If I have to go into more detail... well...refer to my earlier post.

You can have "a RAP" on a pop record. "a RAP" on a rock band's record; Remember Blondie's 'Rapture'? "a RAP" on R&B records. Or should I say CDs/MP3s/ipods before anyone shoots me down. It doesn't mean they're all rap music.

BTW, I ain't serious, before anyone starts making Buckaroo-voodoo dolls. Who's this Tony guy?

Agreed....just beacuse a record has a 'rap' on it, that doesn't make it a 'rap' record. 'Planet Rock' was always considered as 'electro' to the best of my memory. And as remicks well knows, Isaac Hayes doing a 'rap' on one of his tunes is an entirely different thing to what became known as 'rap' later on. People do like to stick labels on things !

Ya silly me ....calling a record a rap record because a couple of guys ARE RAPPING ON IT !!!! ......

Since we're against liking to "stick labels on things" apparently ...why does PLANET ROCK have to be only electro ? Why can't it be .... electro and rap ... or .... electro/rap/beat box/hip hop/haunted house ....

And I can agree on this .... if you play the "B" side of PLANET ROCK .....the instrumental side .... it's no longer the rap version.

Tony is the person possessed by demons who vomits all over the place and whose head spins around. Oh wait .... that was LINDA Blair ....
.... similar though .....

" just beacuse a record has a 'rap' on it, that doesn't make it a 'rap' record." .... gotta remember that ....
