Default Your Top Ten 60's Instrumentals?

No easy feat, as usual when it comes to lists

In no particular order:

1: Earl Van Dyke - All For You
2: Booker T & The MG's - Green Onions (Obvious but you can't keep a good tune down)
3: Ramsey Lewis - Wade In The Water (Sublime!)
4: Willie Mitchell - The Champion
5: Andre Brasseur - The Kid
6: George Rene - Smokey Jo's La La
7: Herbie Hancock - Bring Down The Birds
8: Righteous Brothers Band - Rat Race
9: Freddie Young - Monkey Business
10: Spencer Davis Group - Trampoline

That Hammond Organ sound just gets me everytime

Only 9?

Love Phil Upchurch & Jimmy McGriff. (also recommend Jimmy's The Last Minute Pts 1 & 2)

How many versions of Hole In The Wall were there? I know The Packers & George Stone, but wasn't there a third?

JJ Barnes! Knew there was another.

Gotta agree with you tho, The Packers is the superior.

That's a nice one -I have it with Toots Thielemans playing the harmonica (don't know if it's really the original take, but it sounds pretty close).

Dance-oriented, I remember something called "Tequila", but I forgot the name of the band. Awesome.

More rock-oriented, but kinda groovey, anything by guitar master Link Wray

The Champs did it first in 1958, but there's a very good cover version by No Way Jose from 1984/5. Quality funk re-working
