Referring to the one in the distance, to the right of that tree trunk in chains, blocking the view? I don't think so. Nice knockers, though...

| I've never seen this pic before but I gotta admit it remicks....That does look a awful lot like Ike....Especially knowing that he wore similar chains like those during his rein in the early 70's. I can't remember which album it was but I'm thinking it was the "Joy" album where in the gatefold he had fur on and was wrapped with the chains. There was also another album where he wore chains with his hands extended on a black background. "Live @ The Sahara Tahoe" maybe? I wish the cd reissues would have included the original gatefold art. This mystery is gonna make me dig out my old vinyls. Question for you remicks....I see that you have started lots of threads on Isaac so I take it that you are a big fan like I am. My question is who do you like better....Isaac or Barry? (White) that is.

Well .... to be honest Isaac Hayes' work for me is somewhat hit and miss .... and overall I am not a fan of the sound of his voice. I appreciate his work not so much as a listening fan but as an admire of where he took music and all he accomplished . Barry White to me is a direct extension of Hayes .... building from much of what Isaac developed and taking it somewhere higher . Barry's peak period is wondrous ... the best ... and his voice : I love. If forced to choose between the two ... for personal pleasure , it's Barry White's Greatest Hits I'd have in tow What say you visuals ? *****

Remmy, I doubt it. 1. the photo is listed as Barry1.jpg. It also is listed that way in that site's index. 2. I see a beard in the halo but also hair???? Correct me if I'm wrong but I've never seen that many pics where Isaac Hayes has a full head of hair. But....the girlz are hot, that's for sure!

You could be right, you know. Just found an interesting pic but it's too big to post here: the chains are there and the thorax matches! http://www.wattstax.com/press_images...Triumphant.gif

In terms of composition, Both of these greats were masters in the art of what was called "rappin'. When Barry did it, It was usually in the "high praise" of a woman. When Ike did it, To me there was more-so of a story being told....Kind of like preaching so to speak. So here we have Barry as the smooth romantic...swooning and crooning to the ladies (which I have absolutely no problem with) and Ike as the preacher....warning the men about the powers of love and telling it like it is. As much as I love Barry White's material (and I own most of them,) Ike's stuff just seemed to hit home a little harder with me. In terms of musicianship, Again, Both were masters in their respective departments. While Barry's ballads contained more exotic melody and lush arrangement, His faster numbers never really moved me. There were a couple but not many. Ike's sound on the other hand seemed a tad more orchestrated. I loved both his ballads and the funkier uptempo pieces. I really am not at liberty to say awfully much for Barry in the funk area. Don't get me wrong though, Because the Love Unlimited Orchestra was proof that Barry could do a little of it all....I just like that "Stax/Enterprise" sound a little more. In closing, I would have to say that I agree that Barry's voice was definately the better of the two and that Barry was THE MASTER of seduction and romancing the ladies....So the garbage that many people speak about him "stealing" Ike's style is bullsh**. In the end though, Ike wins the race by a toenail due to his versatility. Quote:

Yes, could very well be! The setting of the pic with the nude girls is certainly typical Isaac. But here it's a "Ménage à 5"!!!
