| Sorry if this thread upsets a few people, but what about a list of artists who are famous for their 'Disco' recordings but who made their first dance recordings in the 1960's? (and sometime before!)..some of these were big Northern Soul club hits btw. Here a few starters... Thelma Houston 'Baby Mine' Gloria Gaynor 'She'll Be Sorry' Harold Melvin And The Bluenotes 'Get Out' Dolores Hall 'Good Lovin Man' Marlena Shaw -'Wade In The Water' The O'Jays... take you pick on this one! I'm choosing 'I Dig Your Act' Tavares..as Chubby and The Turnpikes 'I Didn't Try' Sharon Redd 'Half As Much' Melba Moore 'Don't Cry Sing Along With the Music' |

Another great Three Degrees track..."Contact" on Warner Brothers...not the same as Edwin Starr's track of the same name, but a spacey, showbizz enfused dance record about taking off in a rocket ! |
