| ***** A small article in Billboard May 3, 1975: New York --- A federal judge here has returned a verdict in favor of the Isley Brothers in a suit against Motown Records over the ownership of the songs IT'S YOUR THING , TURN ON, and DON'T GIVE IT AWAY . The suit , begun in 1969 . invovled the question as to whether or not The Isleys were still under contract to Motown when the songs were recorded. The case also involved Motown's seeking to recover all distribution profits on the records from Buddah Records , which had handled The Isley Bros.' T-Neck label after their departure from Motown and prior to their switch to CBS. The jury voted that Buddah was entitled to all distributions money. --- ***** |
