I admit that i know very little about 8early 80's italo Disco. I have a teavk by Koxo called "Step by Step". Is this classed as Italo Disco? If so can you guys name some titles i should look out for that sound as grrovy as this.

Thanks :D

Hi
I've been getting back into the Italo sound recently. Check these out if you can, but beware there are a lot of cheesey / just plain odd vocals on some Italo cuts (which I love!). Head straight for the dubs or get 2 copies to work it out or just enjoy the Parmagiana!

Nightlife Unlimited - Peaches and Prunes (No idea what this is about but a killer killer bassline!)
Dr. Togo - Be Free (kinda like a NY boogie track odd lyrics but has an inst.
Kasso - Key West, Brazilian Dancer, One More Time
Gaz Nevada - I C love affair
K.I.D. - Dont Stop, Do It Again
Boeing - Dance On The Beat

There are tons more, check the Ron Hardy mixes on DHP

A better question might be to name the best Italo Disco compilation CD. With sooooo many out there, I've always been reluctant to dip my toes into this particular pond.

If it's italo compilation CDs you're looking for, I would suggest Blanco Y Negro's "I Love D12"co Diamonds" collection. There are 34 volumes out, and new ones are still being released. That collection is as comprehensive as you can get. But at about $20 each, they are a bit heavy on the wallet.

Default Italo disco

Hi discofresh. Italo was really big down 'ere in the mid-late 80s. I was DJing and the big tracks were;

Tracie Spencer 'Run to me'
Lama 'Love on the rocks'
Ken Laszlo 'Hey,hey,guy' or 'Tonight'
Fun Fun any track!
Mike Maureen 'Love Spy'
Aleph 'Fly to me'
Silver Pozzoli 'Around my dream'

German ZYX records did a series of albums called 'The best of Italo Disco' but i'm not sure if they are still availible. Good luck.

I'm quite new to this but have to agree with prev comments. The vocals are not very soulful BUT the dubs/insturmentals are great...
I've been sigging on gary low-i want you (the vocals are so poor, it's great fun to listen to!) and charley "spacer woman".

yo!

now will someone please tell me what that joe yellow - synchronisation of love should cost!

I have some spare fun/fun etc stuff if anyone is interested!
