Jesse Sounders is not Mach, He didn't create and had absolutely nothing to do with the original version.

The 1980 original version playing in that snip was put together in Miami , Florida by a local DJ. The loop used is from "Space invaders" by Playback.

At the time most if not all boot mixes consisted of tape edits of bits and pieces/snippets of current club hits, as far as I recall very few Djs if any were doing anything this complicated with "Loops" at this stage. It was all done with Reels(two of them) one for the loop and a different one to record from the standard DJ rig with two turntables,

Previously before the Funky Mix/On and On single was released in August of 1980 , Mach had already released a different 12" single mix put together in 1979, (arriving in February of 1980) showcasing the innovation of 'loops' applied to Dj mixes, in this case the 'poouuuuu' of "Ring my bell" was used along with many other overlapping break percussions portions, it was(is) called "Disco Break"

On this 12" you can easily contrast the A side’s "Party" -- created in the old fashion way, with Dj’s overlapping and edits but no 'loops'--- with the B side’s “Disco Break” adding a continuous ‘loop’ throughout the song , this is the mix that made it possible for “On and On “ (and Funkymix) to appear later the same year.

And the rest is history , including Jesse Sounders' version that was done years later !!!
