I would also go with DONNA's I FEEL LOVE.

It also served as the prototype for Bobby "O",New Order,Divine hits in the following years.

The 1977 version was disco, just slightly pumped imho, whereas The Immortals from 1979 had that deep hi-nrg feel. The first of its kind

I'd also go with The Immortals' "The Ultimate Warlord"..., but I'd also like to add Tantra's "Hills of Katmandu" (similar feel IMO).

Yes disco ; due to it being released in 1977 but so unlike traditional disco at the time.
Plus what became the traditional HiNRG sound was the mostly the use of synths, fast tempo and a diva on vocals.

Sounds a lot like IFL to me.
Pitched up a little bit it is still the perfect NRG record.

What a classic.

Waterfront Home - Take A Chance On Me
Bobby O - She Has A Way
Joe Yellow - Lover To Lover

These were my first ones, from what I remember.
(I'm sure I've said this here before.. a bit of deja vu going on! )

Can I change my mind?

Just listened to Giorgio's From Here To Eternity through me headphones (with the bass & volume set to 11!) and was blown away. Actually the whole album is the dogs nuts.

Beats I Feel Love into a cocked hat. (The 1977 version that is, cos nothing beats the 82 remix)...................

mind you, Faithless did a very creditable remix in 1995 and the break version by The Plum DJ's takes it to another level yet again.

Timeless eh!

Ian Levine said somewhere in an interview that in effect The Supremes 'Love Is Like An itching In My Heart' is a hi nrg... I'm inclined to go with that one !
