| Just trawling thru my vinyl collectio (again) and have pulled out a few 12"s which never seem to get a mention here. Anyone else remember these? Camaro's Gang - Ali-Shuffle (Italian Victoria 1983) Boney M - Young Free & Single (UK Carrere 1986) Bianca Fernandez - Tomorrow Doesn't Matter Tonight (UK Make Them Dance 1986) Patrica Costa - Light (US Cause Effect 1985) Carly Simon - My New Boyfriend (UK 1985) Nancy Costa - New York Times (Italian Smash One 1984) (Very Pamela Stanley!) Master Genius - Let's Break (Dutch Break 1983) Fantastique - Mama Told Me (UK Carrere 1984) Corey Daye - I've Cried Too Many Tears & City Nights/Manhattan Cafes (US Blue Chip 1986) |

| A few more Greg Phillinganes - Behind The Mask (UK Planet 1985) (Superb cover of a Michael Jackson track, crucified by Eric Clapton, but wonderfully re-done even earlier by The Yellow Magic Orchestra!) Joy St James - Dance (US Pink Glove 1985) Kissing The Pink - Certain Things Are Likely (UK Magnet 1986) Funkmeister - War Dance / Battle Beat (German Street Heat 1984) Word Of Mouth - Heartbeat Heartbreak (Test Pressing 1984) Was this released on Carrere anyone know? |

| I loved NEW YORK TIMES ; it was pressed on a rainbow coloured 12inch... CARLY SIMON's MY NEW BOYFRIEND was remixed by ARTHUR BAKER in his typical signature sound following GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN... Never heard the remix but read the review in BILLBOARD's dance column.

| Heya Remicks Have you heard it? No way is that the sound of 1979! Eurodisco / hi-nrg typical of the early / mid 80's. Very strange find kdavid - the Arthur Baker remix is pretty darn good |

so given it a couple of listens and .... ...OMG ..... it's : This is strikingly FUNKYTOWN ..... bouncy keyboard ...vocals : females sound something like STARS ON 45 (let's do it, let's do it, let's do it, let's do it , ....... let's do it togeeether) .....the male vocoder voice a la Giorgio ...... some spry fake strings almost more fiddling in sound ... doe si doe ... swing your partner round and round .... I can picture the entire ANNIE GET YOUR GUN cast swirling around a giant stage to it ..... very happy ... ... very upbeat .... ... yep, very FUNKYTOWN ... I'm liking it .... does that describe your version Marmite?? *****
