There was an album called something like "Paul Zone presents" that had a lot of their songs.

However, I recently ordered a Cd of theirs called Male Stripper (1983 - 1989 Anthology ) from CDBaby that contains 48 tracks (of which about 11 are remixes of Male Stripper!). I've bought loads of stuff from that site and they are spot on.

If you follow the links on that site you'll also see that they started out as a Glam Pop/Rock band

before slowly moving towards disco. Oh and you can also buy the CD by Armand Zone, the third Zone bother!

Good luck
Phil.

Thanks for the welcome Neil. If you get fed up waiting for ebay www.cdbaby.com have the CD in stock.

I'm glad I found this forum. I've been very slowly digitizing a lot of Hi NRG Mix tapes that I bought in Manchester during the late 80's and early 90's and been enjoying some very classic and happy memories. Hi NRG gets such a lot of bad press but I still love it !

I recently bought this MAN 2 MAN album with 40 + tracks on iTunes.I paid 10$ for it.

It is weird because some of the tracks are obvious vinyl rips and some of them suffer in sound quality ; but overall the roughness of certain tracks work in their favor.

It's like a dash of punk thrown in for good measure.

So many great 12in versions available on this album.

there was an album released at the time that Male Stripper was a big hit - still got it on Vinyl somewhere and I think it was self titled

Ok found it - it was entitled "Man to Man featuring Paul Zone" on the zyx label out of Germany.
1) energy is eurobeat
2) sex symbol
3) try my love
4) I need a man
5) new york city beat

1) Swingin on a star
2) at the gym
3) male stripper
4) the lonliest man in the world
5) mexico

I remember New York City beat always went down well when mixed into male stripper - very similar tracks.

Hello there,

I am new here. I've got both the zyx vinyl album and the cd collection (Man 2 Man) that was mentioned further above (the one from cdbaby). The album released by zyx is the only one I know of - but what do I know. Does anybody know where I can get the cd single "Heatstroke" from Man Parrish? cdbaby has the cd album listed, but sadly it's currently out of stock. Would buy the whole album just for that song.

Whilst trawling the internet recently I discovered that the guys from Man To Man were in a punk rock type band called 'The Fast' in the 70s/early 80s before they went 'disco'. There was another brother in the band who like Miki died of Aids in the 80s. They certainly looked & sounded different in those days!

yes, the 40 track offering from itunes is superb. Only things missing are the 'UK love mix' & 'Smutty dirty mix' of Male Stripper.

Recommended !

Had a 12" of this track once that had about 7 different mixes on and these were 2 of them. Bought it at a local Sunday market for about £2.00 in 1988. Lost it somehow and never did find it again.

Still have another of their 12"s in the shape of a cover of Nancy Sinatras "These Boots Are Made For Walkin" feat the voice of Jessica Williams.

The list of singles I've dug (from research) out are as follows

  • "Male Stripper"
  • "New York City Beat"
  • "Energy Is Eurobeat/"I Need A Man"
  • "Hard Hitting Love"
  • "Who Knows What Evil?"
  • "These Boots Are Made For Walkin' "
  • "Sex Symbol"
  • "At The Gym"
  • "Hottest Of The Hot"
  • "MΙXICO"
  • "Walk Like A Man"
I seem to remember also having a cassette at one time with most of these singles on which I picked up at a local bar once from the dj. That too is long gone (so is the bar).
