a few questions from me
you sang background vocals on the exciters album - heaven is wherever you are

released in the u.k early 1976. other background singers included the ellington sisters [who had a great single on u.s r.c.a around that time]also in those sessions that will interest many here was on keyboards, vibes and percussion non other than patrick adams!
in 1977 herb rooney released an album on the exciters [self titled] in the u.s that contained 2 tracks from that first album reaching for the very best [name change from original reaching for the best] and suffering they are different mixes for the u.s, now whats odd about this theres no credits to anybody except himself, no ian levine no evelyn, i think this album is quite rare as ive only ever seen a couple of copies, my question is do you know about this release?

I don't have much to ask you but I do want to tell you that I thoroughly appreciate you putting forth your high energetic vocal talents to dance music.

From my vantage point from the dj booth, you made lots of people smile and lose a few pounds at the same time! Looking at some of my friends now, perhaps you should make another record and I'll coax 'em out to the dancefloor again.....:lol:

Also, could you give us a brief bio and how you began your music career?

I didn't notice any Evelyn Thomas releases from the start of the 90's and on. 'High Energy' has been re-mixed so many times I've lost count....perhaps it was a need to hear your voice on the dancefloor.

Were you still involved with music in the 90's or trying new endeavours?

to answer your question about being in the studio with Ian Levine, Ian was and still is the most excitng producer to work with, He's very down to earth letting you know when you sound great, or if you sound like a cow, he is my favorate producer. The first cover Album was created the way it was because the record company did'nt like the photo's that were submitted. Love Evelyn Thomas

For Evelyn Thomas : I know Ian Levine produced your first album as far back as 1978 ... so you must have had a long term friendship or at least a good long term working relationship with him to still be working together in the mid-80s. Can You comment about that and tell us more what it was like in the studio with him ???

I am aware of the release on the Exciters, I'm not aware of the Top of the pops, appearances that are available. At this present time I'm not in contact with Danny Leak or Ian Levine Or Barbra Pennington.
Yes i do remember the Ritz Casino it;s one of my favorate places to perform, who could forget that place? Thank you for your question hope to hear from everyone soon. Love Evelyn Thomas
