DOA : NUDE

The NUDE album by DEAD OR ALIVE is my favourite of all their albums. It was produced by the band and released in 1989. Unfortunately it did very little here in the UK but was mega huge in Japan and the States. My favourite tracks are -:

COME HOME WITH ME BABY (relaesed as a single)
TURN AROUND AND COUNT TO TEN (Released as a single)
MY FORBIDDEN LOVER (great hi-nrg track)
GET OUT OF MY HOUSE

The album features three fave hi-nrg divas on backing vocals - TRACY ACKERMAN
LAURA PALLAS
JACKIE RAWE

This has to be one of the mostly highly underrated albums of the 80`s - I have the original LP & CD and they are never far from my turntable/CD Player...
The two singles were very popular at ROCKIES in Manchester and always filled the dancefloor.. I remember DOA appearing at the Manchester Mardi Gras in 1996 and they went down an absolute storm...

They used to play Baby Don't Say Goodbye loads at Rockies when I first started going there in 1989, that was one of my favourites of there's.

"Come Home With Me Baby" is one of my favourite DOA tracks and I was really disappointed that it wasn't a hit in the UK...the Japanese obviously have much better taste!!! :D

I agree, an amazing album. Loved the remixes of "Come Home With Me Baby" and "Turn Around & Count 2 Ten" as well.

Do you have the remix album for "Nude" that Dead Or Alive released in Japan called "Nude: Remade & Remodelled"? It's not quite as great as the regular "Nude" album but its definitely worth checking out just for the remix of "Baby Don't Say Goodbye" where Pete Burns goes into a brief Motown medley after the "I hear a Four Tops record on the radio" line.

I have never heard or seen the remix album - must be rare now.

I'm not sure how rare it is but I have seen it come up on ebay a number of times. I wouldn't pay big bucks for as the mixes of "Come Home With Me Baby" and "Turn Around & Count 2 Ten" are basically the same as the versions on the 12"s and there were no mixes included for some of the best tracks from "Nude" (i.e. "My Forbidden Lover," Get Out Of My House," or "I Cannot Carry On") it but it is a fun album to have if you see it for a reasonable amount.
