Me again...

The discussion about the CD Pool remix CD has reminded me of the original 12" Shep Pettibone remix of "The Slightest Touch"...is it just me, or was that a FAB track? I was actually a bit of a Five Star fan in my youth, and had all their stuff, but this was definately my favourite, head and shoulders above anything else they released! :D

Certain people are all too quick to pooh pooh them. Because they had major hits for about two years, then disappeared. Five Star were very very popular, with a lot of people, whether they wish to admit it or not. Their first excellent LP, produced by Oattes & Van Schaik of The Limit, was packed with funky floor filling tracks.

They did some good stuff indeed! The fist LP had cuts produced by Nick Martinelli, and not surprisingly it had a lot of similarities to the stuff he was producing for Loose Ends, 52nd Street and Ian Foster (remember him?).

"Love Take Over" and "Let Me Be The One" were great tracks still sounding good today. So was the little known "Are You Man Enough" from their 2nd set, and even "Rock The World" from the 3rd.
Yup, there were more to the Pearsson family than noticed on the initial listen.
