I'd like to know why he was asbent from the DVD box collection, The Strange World Of Northern Soul, whilst many other original stalwarts, basically slagged him off. Why wasn't he interviewed, so his side of the story could be told?

I think a lot of people would be interested as to some of his decisions, around music policy, later on his his career and if he now had regrets. (IE: Nightmare, Achievement & Motor City labels)

I'd also like to know if he's got a spare copy of Lama's Love On the Rocks he could mail me ;)

He was interviewed at length throughout Strangeworld, he's all over it in inimitable Levine style. You can ask him the other stuff if he comes on here.

I'm wondering what he's up to today and can we ever expect to hear him dj again ? Now that would be a night worth going to, a UK version of the Remember The Party events at the old Trocadero Transfer venue in San Francisco. One Night In Heaven !

Also, why the 12" version of his biggest disco era hit, Barbara Pennington's '24 Hours A Day' has never been reissued on cd ?

Ian mainly does production work for pop acts aswell as making films. I know he would love to Dj Hi NRG again but at the moment there has been no opportunity. Ian fell out badly with David Inches who co owns Heaven at the 21st anniversary party and now refuses to DJ there, I am hoping that this can be resolved as a " One night in Heaven" Hi nrg special would be terrific. As for the Barbra Pennington, I'vre no idea on that one..

Hopefully the man himself can fill us in on that Pennington question.

I did wonder why Ian's name wasn't on the list of djs for Heaven's 25th anniversary party last year. I still haven't made it to Heaven after all these years, isn't that awful ? Its on my travel short list though.

The Remember The Party events in San Francisco are wonderful, i'm going to the next one on October 9th - can't wait ! It would be great to see a similar event in the UK and Ian would be the perfect dj.

As I said above , Ian fell out badly with David Inches co owner of Heaven , which is why he wasn't involved in the 25th anniversary night. I'm also going to San Fran for the " remember the Party event", can't wait!!

straight acting,
Thanks for offering to contact Ian Levine. I would love it if Ian could provide us with a timeline / outline of his life and career as some in the States including myself are not fully aware of the scope of his involvement with Disco and Hi-NRG. In addition it would be nice to know what he considers to be his top twenty songs and any tidbits of insider info he may have. Thanks again.

Barbara Pennington 24 Hours A Day has just been out on the Alnmighty We Love Disco CD (although mixed) and I know that Ian Levine mixed a Donna Summer megamix for the Discomania CD that came out last year.

I'd love to know what Ian Levine is up to as well. The last thing I can think of off the top of my head that he's done was that Hi-NRG remix of Petula Clark's "Downtown" that came out around 1999/2000.

Is there any more recent stuff he's done? I wasn't even aware of the Donna Summer megamix totoman mentions.
