Default Haywoode/Roses

"Roses" by Sis Haywoode was a big dance + pop hit here in the UK in the summer of 1986. I just wondered how popular it was in the States/Europe at that time.. Does anyone rememver it ?
She had some lesser "follow up" hits with "getting closer" and "Can`t let you go"

Roses was played a lot on the radio over here back then. So was "You Better Not Fool Around" and to a lesser extent "I'm Your Puppet".

I never got to hear "I`m your puppet"...She also released a good album in 1986 containing all the dance hits - It was called ARRIVAL.

A Time Like This is truly wonderful (even more so as a debut single), and full of exuberance. Not sure how many versions of it there were, but I have one clocking in at around 5.15 that's the best I've heard.

Haywoode's ARRIVAL is a fantastic album! "Single Handed" is another gem while "Getting Closer" and "You Better Not Fool Around" are two of Stock/Aitken/Waterman's best songs. The only dud is her remake of Prince's "I Wanna Be Your Lover" -- quite tepid compared to the original.

I wish ARRIVAL would get a Re-release on CD format.. Probably never happen tho... i thought Millie Jacksons version of "I WANNA BE YOUR LOVER" was far superior

I saw a Japanese CD issue of ARRIVAL on eBay a few months ago...I didn't bother bidding as it was arleady at $60 with 5 days to go. I was surprised to see it as I got the impression that it was never released on CD.

Found this album at the record store a couple of days ago.. Really love this album! Somehow I thought the LP would be entirely produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, but the two tracks they did are great, as is the rest of it. I don't think there's a track on this album that I don't like.. This one's officially on my CD reissues wish list :)
