No, not from the Chic sessions-- the Johnny Mathis tune is from the b-side of the 1979 "Begin The Beguine" 12" and The LP: "The Best Years Of Our Lives"; arranged by Gene Page; mixed by Steve Thompson; produced by Jack Gold.

A Trocadero classic!!! :D :D :D :D

In the UK, the Johnny Mathis track was the A side. There was a 12" red vinyl going round at the time of release.
It got to no.15 in '79. Cat no; CBS 127730.

The 2 CD compilation is mixed. I was very happy when I saw the 3rd CD and I have been playing it since it arrived last week. The Almighty Mixes of Thelma, Tata, Donna and the mix of Armed...are very good, but the best part is the remastering of the other tracks. Sinner Man and Souvenirs sound awesome.

Default Question re: remixes on this comp.

I just received my copy of this cd yesterday and have been enjoying it very much. I was especially looking forward to the remix of the Tata Vega song since she is one of my all time favorite singers. However, the vocals are a little different from the original so I was wondering if they were rerecorded. It is pretty obvious that the Thelma Houston song is, but I was wondering if anyone new about the Tata and Donna songs, or did the Almighty team have access to the original masters that had additional vocals?

Just like their Supremes remixes, the Almighty team had access to the original multi-tracks which contained additional vocals unused on the original versions. This is inclusive of whole vocal sections and or alternate vocal takes.

We probably should ask Nile about it since it appears he sometimes visits this site...

The CD3 mentioned here was a limited edition CD-R of extended mixes of songs from the 2 CD set. As I remember, the 2 CD set had the songs in a continuous mix, whereas the CD3 was unmixed.

Most of the tunes on the CD3 are available elsewhere, except for the Almighty remixes of Tata Vega, Donna Summer, et al. mentioned previously.

Unhappy Re: We Love Disco CD3....Great Compilation...............

I am looking only for the 6:24 version of Sinner Man by Sarah Dash (I have not found this version anywhere else either ;( ) since the Club Epic Volume 4 is a 5:39 mix and not the original version.

In the interest of not collecting any more CD's and saving money (I did find the 3 CD box set on Almighty's site for UK16.99 (~US$33) shipped but to get one song, that is pretty pricey and the Amazon US copy does not have the CD3 with it), does anyone happen to know if any online services have the 6:24 version available in download (192kbps or higher) by chance?

Regards.
